3B Pharmaceuticals GmbHOranienburg, DEIntro 3B Pharmaceuticals GmbH is a pharmaceutical biotechnology company, a leader in the discovery and optimization of peptides for the development of tumor-targeted radiopharmaceuticals. Our aim is to treat and diagnose cancers that are currently difficult to address. 3BP’s expertise ranges from substance identification to early clinical development. 3BP’s interdisciplinary Radiopharmaceutical Technologies team is responsible for the development of novel radiolabeling methods for proprietary compounds. These radiolabeled compounds are then used internally for in vitro and in vivo assays. Furthermore, the radiolabeling methods are made available to external partners for further compound characterization. We are currently expanding our discovery and clinical activities and are looking for an open-minded (Bio)Inorganic Scientist to support and shape 3BP’s programs. Tasks Leading and managing research projects addressing (radio)chemical fundamentals including literature search, design and execution of experiments, documentation, and presentation of the results Setting up and establishment of assay techniques to characterize coordination complexes of metals used in nuclear medicine incl. selection of new equipment and maintenance of necessary instruments Hands-on design of sophisticated radioactive and non-radioactive experiments to address (radio)chemical questions especially in the field of alpha emitter applications Hands-on development and execution of assays using radiation measurement instruments (e.g. gamma and scintillation counters) Hands-on optimization of radiolabeling reactions as well as routine radiolabeling reactions Radiochemical support for radiolabeling reactions at external sides Data processing, in-depth analysis and documentation Generation and management of project plans and timelines Preparation of reports and presentations for internal and external events Requirements Experience in coordination complex chemistry with a strong background in instrumental analysis to determine coordination complex characteristics, such as thermodynamic / kinetic complex stabilities, electrochemical potentials, etc. A solid technical grasp regarding the functioning of the corresponding instruments is highly desired Willingness to work hands-on in the laboratory, including with unsealed radioactive materials (associated experience is beneficial) Background in chelator chemistry (especially chelators that are applicable in nuclear medicine), experience in macrocyclic chelator synthesis is a plus Proficiency in carrying out research projects as evidenced by a relevant publication record in peer-reviewed journals Candidate should have a strong scientific drive and self-learning capacity Candidate should thrive in an open-minded environment and should be passionate about proposing and experimentally verifying hypotheses High degree of initiative, accountability and control over their own day-to-day activities is required Strong interest in interdisciplinary team work with collaborative and open-minded style that fosters a supportive working environment Ability and willingness to establish and build internal and external relationships at all levels Proficient written and spoken English communication skills, German skills are highly desired PhD in a relevant field, e.g. (bio)inorganic chemistry, postdoctoral research experience is a plus Benefits A meaningful, multifaceted job in a motivated, supportive team Independent work in an innovative environment where each individual can achieve visible results An open and appreciative corporate culture with a strong team spirit A wide range of opportunities to help shape a growing company Opportunities for personal development Flexible working time models and a permanent position A very well-equipped, modern working environmentAllowance for job ticket / bicycle, Urban Sports Club and language lessons Closing The position is based in Berlin-Adlershof.
