Our founders set out in 2011 to create a tool that they would have hoped to have as medical students and doctors. Since then we have grown to currently operate in 180 countries and have gained immense traction in Germany and the US. Currently, we are pursuing this mission with more than 500+ employees in our offices in Berlin, Cologne, New York, and Cagliari.
Tasks
Preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in collaboration with the General Ledger team
Preparation of reports and analyses for monthly and annual financial statements
Responsibility for parts of the annual audits
Valuation and posting of relevant general ledger items (e.g. provisions, prepayments, advances, tangible and intangible assets)
Evaluation of valuation rules and options under IFRS and / or HGB
Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and legal requirements
Carrying out account reconciliations and clarifications
Responsibility for intercompany reconciliations
Technical sparring partner for the subsidiary ledger teams (Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Banking and others)
Direct contact for internal stakeholders and management
Contact for auditors, consultants and authorities
Project responsibility for internal accounting projects
Participation in the optimization of accounting processes and systems
Profile
Completed training as a certified accountant (f / m / d) or comparable training
5+ years of experience as an accountant or in similar positions
Confident handling of German tax laws, HGB, GoBD
Experience and expertise in IFRS accounting
Experience in using common ERP and accounting systems (SAP, Netsuite, Workday, DATEV)
Knowledge of digital accounting and modern financial tools
Strong analytical skills and confident handling of complex financial data
High precision and attention to detail in working methods
Strong sense of teamwork and proactive attitude
High degree of personal responsibility and independent working style
Experience in project management and project control is an advantage
Fluent German and English, spoken and written
