Summary

For the “Development” department, we are looking for a “Specialist Team Leader Mechanical Design (f / m / d)” at the Wetzlar site as soon as possible.

Within the development department, various disciplines such as software, optics, electronics and mechanics are combined to develop high-quality hand-held and vehicle-based optronic systems. Our observation devices combine information from multiple sensors operating at visible and infrared wavelengths to provide the user with reliable information even under the most challenging conditions and ensure mission success.

Your Tasks

Technical management of the design team

Analysis of customer requirements and examination of implementation options

Deriving the technical requirements from the specifications

Creation of concepts taking into account functional, economic and time requirements and control of technical implementation

Designing complex opto-mechanical systems and associated assembly and testing equipment

Definition of test requirements and involvement in engineering tests and verification

Calculation of development costs and planning of development periods

Capacity planning of the design team including prioritization

Supporting the start of production and series support

Close cooperation in interdisciplinary project teams and with external partners

Your Profile

Degree in precision engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering or similar

Several years of professional experience in leading a design team

Several years of professional experience in design, preferably in the field of opto-mechanics

Experience in working with SAP

Experience with composite materials and finite element analysis advantageous

Sound knowledge of a 3D CAD system, preferably Creo4

Affinity for optical and optoelectronic devices

Good understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes

Creative and solution-oriented way of working as well as strong communication skills and team orientation

Very good knowledge of German and English
