Current INTERNAL Local National Employees throughout Germany. This covers all current Local National employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, including U.S. Air Force and AAFES-Europe within Germany.
EXTERNAL Local National Applicants, who reside in Germany.
Hauptaufgaben
Ensures that care is provided in compliance with Child Development standards as outlined in applicable regulations.
Assists in planning and conducting an effective child development program to meet the physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs of each child based upon stated goals and a curriculum plan provided by the supervisor.
Reviews and implements daily schedules and activity plans, and briefs lower graded employees. Arranges the room and play materials to accommodate the daily schedule. Sets up displays and bulletin boards.
Helps create adult-made games and play materials (i.e., mixing paint, playdough, and assembling props, for dramatic play, activities, etc.), and assists with developing a list of needed supplies and equipment for submission to the supervisor.
Creates a pleasant, inviting atmosphere for children. Ensures the safety and sanitation of children through constant supervision, effective arrangement of space, proper maintenance of equipment etc.
Completes and submits required reports in an accurate and timely manner. Participate in conferences with parents and supervisor.
Interacts with children during programmed activities. Uses approved child guidance and caregiving techniques that support overall program objectives. Maintains continuous observation of children to detect early signs of distress or abnormal behavior.
Attends to the physical needs of the children (i.e., diapering, feeding, toileting, resting, etc.). Helps children to develop self-help skills. Rocks and holds babies, and assists children during family style meals.
Serves as leader to a staff of Child Development Program Assistants with responsibility for the operation of the activity and program in accordance with the daily activity plan.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifikationsanforderungen

Completed apprenticeship as an Education Technician (Erzieher / in); no additional experience required.
Completed training as a Kinderpfleger / in; PLUS 1 year of job related experience in dealing with children and infants, arranging festive occasions with and for children.
Otherwise :
E&T Levels I&II : not creditable for positions in this occupational series.
E&T Levels IIIA and IVA with a completed apprenticeship in an unrelated field PLUS 3 years of job related experience in dealing with children and infants, arranging festive occasions with and for children.
E&T Level IIIB and C and IVD : 3 years of job related experience in dealing with children and infants, arranging festive occasions with and for children.
E&T Level IVB and C are not creditable for positions in this occupational series.
E&T Level V with university or equivalent graduation should be related to early childhood education and care (for example, registered pediatric nurse, teacher, social worker) or similar occupation.
E&T Level V with a graduation in an unrelated field plus 3 years of job related experience in dealing with children and infants, arranging festive occasions with and for children
Training : These positions require completion of mandatory training, as directed.
- Applicants must be in the possession of a valid driver's license class B.
- Office automation skills required.
LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL :
English Language Proficiency Level C1 AND German Language Proficiency Level A1 required.

Beschäftigungsbedingungen
Designated duty station is at present Vilseck.
The future incumbent may be reassigned to another duty station within the same works council agency and commuting area (within the meaning of the legal ordinance on moving expense in its current version) of his / her present duty station.
Personnel must be able to walk, bend, stoop, and stand for prolonged periods. They must also be able to lift 40 pounds.
Applicants will have a medical assessment and required vaccinations before employment, and annual assessments thereafter. This may include a tuberculin skin test or chest X-ray, and other tests deemed appropriate by the occupational health service.
In accordance with § 20a (3) IfSG, a certification of vaccination or recovery defined by the current Exceptional Ordinance on COVID-19 Protection Measures (SchAusnahmV) is required prior to entry on duty.
