Current INTERNAL Local National Employees throughout Germany. This covers all current Local National employees of the U.S. Forces in Germany, including U.S. Air Force and AAFES-Europe within Germany.

Hauptaufgaben

The Fire Protection Inspector is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating his / her activities of the technical services program, to include comprehensive inspection / risk assessment for installation facilities, based on assigned schedules to detect and eliminate hazards in high fire expectancy areas, an installation-wide fire prevention / fire safety training program for entire base population, and the inspection, testing, preventive maintenance functions for fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems installed in mission essential facilities throughout the installation.

Perfroms other duties as assigned.

Qualifikationsanforderungen

Following are minimum qualification requirements for entry into any fire protection and prevention position to which this qualification standard applies :

1. Applicants for this position must have E&T Level I (completed lower secondary school / Hauptschulabschluss)

2. Possession of a valid host Nation Class B motor vehicle operator license.

3. Ability to operate a Computer.

4. Pass a medical evaluation as determined appropriate by US Army authorities.

5. Complete and pass required medical examinations as determined appropriate by US Army authorities.

6. Incumbent must complete and / or provide copies of the DoD Firefighter Certifications for Fire Instructor I, Fire Inspector I & II, Public Fire & Life Safety Educator and HazMat Awareness within 2 years of the final job offer.

C-05 : 1 year of creditable experience

C-5A : 2 years of creditable experience

Experience Requirements : Creditable experience must be directly related work experience in the same area of specialization to the position to be filled. The experience could have been gained in the actual performance of duties such as : (1) controlling or extinguishing fires as a member of an organized military, industrial, volunteer, or governmental fire department or brigade; (2) rescue operations; (3) detecting, reduction, or elimination of potential fire hazards; (4) operation of fire communications equipment; (5) controlling hazardous material incidents and / or (6) developing, implementing, or providing training in fire protection and prevention. However, the below stated amount of experience must be directly and specifically related to the position to be filled.

Substitution of the above experience requirements with higher level formal education is not permissible.

  • German driver's license class C and CE desired.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL :

English AND German Language Proficiency level C1 required.

  • The incumbent of this position is occasionally required to perform TDY (Temporary Duty Travel).
  • Employee may perform the work at a location away from the regular worksite (e.g. at home) on a non-routine, ad-hoc basis. This includes work performed to complete a short-term special assignment or to accommodate special circumstances.
  • On-Call duty required.
  • Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 100 lbs.
  • Physical exam G26.3 , G25, G41, G37, G20, FEV / HepB.
