Embedded Software Engineer

Work environment

EmTroniX has been at the forefront in electronics and embedded software for NewSpace applications since 2001, specializing in project management, design, testing, and production. With expertise in digital signal processing, telecommunications, electrical and mechanical engineering, we are driving the future of space technology. With a team of over 45 diverse, international professionals, EmTroniX is a dynamic, tightly knit company that thrives on collaboration, creativity, and innovation.

Recently, EmTroniX joined forces with Anywaves, a leading European space antenna specialist, creating a stronger, more integrated space RF, electronics, antennas and payload subsystems group. This merger opens up exciting new opportunities to work on larger, more complex programmes, expanded international markets, and end-to-end satellite payload technology solutions.

Our future software engineer will work directly on the embedded software of EmTroniX’s NewSpace

Products.

Key responsibilities

Contribute to product development lifecycle (design, implementation, verification, qualification, maintenance).
Contribute to the software requirements and test strategy definitions.
Develop and maintain documentation (design documentation, ICDs, user manual, …).
Collaborating closely with other technical teams.
Use and integrate labs equipment into testing procedure (spectrum analyser, signal generator, power meter, …).

Preferred skills

Have a strong technical foundation in C (Embedded Hardware/Software: Real-time microcontrollers and SoCs), APIs/SDKs, and version control.
Have a solid expertise in code architecture to develop modular, reusable components for scalable and maintainable software frameworks.
Have in-depth knowledge to design and implement high-performance, space-grade and real time application.
Design and integrate unit tests for the various design elements.

Job requirement?

Background knowledge of electronics (RF, digital, analog)
Working knowledge of interface protocols (UART, CAN, RS422/485, Ethernet, xSPI, SpW, I²C)
Competences in planning and risk management
Have sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, combined with a user-focused and business aware approach to decision-making.
Be proactive and adaptable with the ability to articulate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical people.
Fluent in English – French or German are strong asset
Master degree in software engineering or equivalent
Over 5 years of relevant experience – not necessarily in space. Automotive or medical experience would be appreciated.
