Summary

The Sales & Business Development Engineer, ensures the commercial development of Mobile Water Solutions activities and brand awareness in their region. Activities include participating in communication actions, prospecting potential new customers, preparing proposals in cooperation with the process experts, negotiating prices, developing strategies to boost sales, managing the customer portfolio, and ensuring commercial follow-up with customers in order to make them customer for life. The Sales & Business Development Engineer plays a crucial role in business & profitability growth. The Sales & Business Development Engineer, North & East of Germany reports to the Division Sales Manager, Northern Europe.

The role is home office-based position with frequent travel and industrial site visits within the region.

Job Responsibilities

Sales

  • Direct strategic sales and negotiations
  • Establishing sales plan for the dedicated area with the support of the Division Sales Manager
  • Maintaining contact with existing customers and building long-term partnerships
  • Calculating prices based on the standard cost sheet
  • Preparing proposals (technical & process support from Europe Operations Team)

Business Development

  • Identifying & prospecting of new potential customers in the assigned region.
  • Establishing development plan for the dedicated area with the support of the Division Sales Manager
  • Implementing specific business development plans (priority customers, engineering houses & EPCs, IEX, etc.)
  • Identifying new markets or fields of opportunities
  • Support general Sales and Marketing activities

  • Contributing proactively to the business & profitability growth
  • Building brand awareness
  • Implementing marketing plan (support from Europe Marketing Team) and participating in communication events and actions (webinars, seminars, exhibitions, press articles, technical papers)
  • Respecting Golden Rules (internal procedures, contractual terms, etc.)
  • Quality Assurance

  • Assist in developing systems and procedures for Mobile Water Solutions.
  • Provide adequate auditing, particularly of on-site activities, to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Adhere to and enforce procedures outlined within the quality system.
  • Health & Safety

  • Ensure adherence to QHSE policies and standards by fostering a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace, actively promoting safety initiatives, and complying with regulatory requirements, as the health, safety, and environmental well-being of our employees are fundamental to our organization.
  • Report any incidents, near-misses, or hazards promptly to management and assist in the investigation process to prevent future occurrences

  • Documentation

  • Prepare and actively participate in sales team reviews & reports, active use of CRM system.
  • Job Requirements

  • Master’s degree or Engineering degree or equivalent in commerce or technical.
  • Proven (technical) experience in sales, preferably in the field of water treatment or a related industry.
  • Extensive working experience in sales & business development in the water and wastewater treatment industry
  • Experience and proven capability to work across cultures, borders, and different methods of executing business within an international team.
  • Proficiency in English and German to communicate effectively and clearly with both technical and non-technical personnel, including clients, team members, and management.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License to drive in the region
