Chemical Compliance Manager
An international trading giant specializing in innovative products and in the chemicals, plastics, electronics, automotive, and life sciences fields is looking for an experienced Chemical Compliance Manager to join their team in Dusseldorf.
Fluency in German and English will be required for this role.
You will be responsible for assuring that company products and services and the related businesses are in complete accordance with all relevant national and international laws and regulations, e. g. REACH.

Hours : 40 hours a week

Salary : Up to €70k DOE

Chemical Compliance Manager RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Take care about all intercompany procedures and processes, related to your area of responsibility, so that they also follow all valid laws and regulations
- Manage the company-internal information flow, taking into consideration the different competences and levels of discretion
- Act as an interface between the General Management and the decision makers of the various divisions
- Implement and maintain compliance programs which will allow you to identify risks, preventing and easing damages related to compliance with laws and regulations of all countries where the company operates
- Take care of all common risk-minimizing-tools and legal basic principles of all departments
- Consulting in case of internal requests related to regulatory subjects (chemical products, cosmetics, pharmaceutics)
- Contribution regarding the monitoring and implementation of legal specifications
- Submission of notifications to authorities and competent bodies (C&L, Inventory, Poison Centre Notification, SCIP database, pharmaceutical agents, and excipients)
- Acquisition of Safety Data Sheets from external service providers and including plausibility checks
- Verification and approval of product applications as well as maintaining the product database
- Tariff classification of chemical products and articles
Chemical Compliance Manager IDEAL CANDIDATE :
- You have a university degree, preferable in Chemistry (or in Toxicology).
- You should have practical experience of at least 2 years in the area of chemicals legislation (REACH, CLP,
- You have basic know-how about preparation and verification of Safety Data Sheets
- Experience with SAP- and ECHA-tools are preferable
- Excellent skills in German and English language, spoken and written
- Experience in handling MS Office appliances
- You have excellent cross-cultural communication skills
- You are able to work in a team but additionally you are working self-reliant and outcome-oriented
- You should have a keen and fast perception
- You should be highly motivated to improve your compliance-skills
