We're seeking a dynamic and seasoned engineer to join our technology and innovation team. This individual will have a pivotal role in designing and creating new technologies by working closely with data scientists, developers, and domain experts.
What part will you play?
As a Principle Multi-Cloud Runtime Platform Engineer, you’ll apply specialized knowledge of container, Kubernetes and public / private cloud infrastructure design & operation, to assist with the development and onward operation of a multi-cloud runtime platform supporting Siemens’ Xcelerator SaaS program.
You’ll be a senior member of a dynamic, cross-functional, geographically dispersed team, ultimately accountable for the technical deliverables of the platform engineering teams comprising a growing team of 25 staff. Your team comprises subject matters experts from platform architecture, infrastructure engineering, software engineering, DEVOPS, security, networks, firewalls, computing & storage to deliver a global, powerful, scalable, cost efficient, highly available platform that meets the evolving needs of the business.
You will create and maintain PaaS environments that meet service level agreements; support the resource requirements of the development, QA and customer value realization teams; enable CI / CD; meet ISO27001 & SOC2 standards and produce comprehensive internal and end user documentation.
This position makes significant contributions towards the delivery DevOps solutions that support best-in-class cloud based microservice applications. Recognized by peers as a strong collaborator. Must excel in a team environment that changes with new technology adoption and evolving customer requirements. Has excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
Technical Leadership :
Lead platform design, focusing on cloud computing, distributed systems, and automation.

Architecture :
Define scalable, reliable platform architecture and patterns.
Translate requirements into robust solutions; conduct architectural reviews.
Ensure scalability and reliability through strong technical processes.

Oversee platform features, adhering to coding and security standards.
Promote automation and perform code reviews for quality assurance.
Infrastructure :
Optimize cloud services, containers, and monitoring tools.
Automate provisioning, scaling, and configuration management.
Collaboration :
Align with product and engineering teams; communicate solutions clearly.
Build partnerships with vendors and open-source communities.
What you need to make real what matters.
Leadership : Proven long term experience leading PaaS, IaaS, or software development teams to drive business outcomes and influence systems and culture.
Platform Engineering : Extensive background in designing scalable, reliable platform solutions.
Cloud Expertise : Advanced knowledge of AWS (ECS, EKS, S3, VPC, Lambda, IAM), Azure, or GCP.
Containerization & Infrastructure : Proficient with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Ansible.
Programming & Scripting : Skilled in Python, Go, and Bash, with strong system design and architecture expertise.
DevOps & CI / CD : Experience with agile methodologies, GitOps, and tools like Jenkins and GitLab-CI.
Linux & Open Source : Deep understanding of Linux OS, open-source ecosystems, and scalable system automation.
Networking & Security : Expertise in networking, security threat models, and system troubleshooting.
Communication & Collaboration : Strong leadership, interpersonal, and decision-making skills, with a focus on driving results and improvement.
