Job location

In this position, you have the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in Germany, or you can choose to work from our offices in Berlin, Munich or Walldorf, depending on your preference.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced ABAP Developer to join our Banking team and take on a wide variety of stimulating responsibilities, such as :

• Analyzing and resolving complex issues in both existing and new code, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to communicate with external and internal customers
• Collaborating with customers (internal and external) from a wide variety of roles (front-end developers, business analysts, business users) to translate design concepts and business requirements into functional applications
• Option to be involved in different banking products and tasks depending on interest and skillset
• Demonstrating excellent development, quality, and delivery skills within teams, actively contributing to short development and release cycles
• Collaborating effectively with geographically distributed teams, ensuring seamless communication and coordination for successful project outcomes
• Generating comprehensive design documents for new software features and software changes
• Implementing and adhering to agile software engineering methods, actively participating in the complete software development lifecycle, including coding, testing, quality assurance, and documentation

Requirements

• A customer-first mindset and a strong sense of teamwork, recognizing the importance of understanding and addressing our clients’ needs while fostering a positive and supportive team environment
• A passion for writing code, the willingness to learn and an interest in Banking
• An academic degree in Computer Science, Natural Sciences, Engineering or a comparable qualification.
• Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrate an excellent understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Understand the concepts of functional and object-oriented paradigms, applying them effectively in software development
• Proficiency in ABAP - Experienced in designing and developing applications
• Know-how in optimizing application performance and product security
• Experienced in collaborating with front-end developers and business analysts to translate design concepts and business requirements into functional applications
• Be experienced in debugging to identify and fix issues in the back-end code
• Fluent proficiency in English

Nice to have :

• Knowledge in SAP CML is highly advantageous
• Knowledge in SAP Banking for Complex Loans
• Exposure to ABAP RAP
• SAP BTP (ABAP, API management, etc)
• Experience in implementing and customizing of SAPUI5 German language skills are highly advantageous
