Trade Finance Sales Executive Director

Reporting to the Head of GTB Germany. The TFS has to provide Trade Finance solutions to the assigned portfolio of Corporate Clients.

About the role

• Ensure the follow-up and development of existing business flows with BBVA branch clients.

• Represent BBVA with corporate clients assuming the banker role with subsidiaries not covered by global Bankers.

• Identify and generate new business opportunities with existing clients and expand the geographic reach of the customers relationships in coordination with the global bankers.

• Visit and call on existing and prospect clients proactively accompanied by product specialists when required offering transactional products and services.

• Monitor and check in coordination with global and local product specialists how the transaction services and products set up for a specific customer works.

• Draft pitches and review legal documentation of agreements in collaboration with Legal CIB.

• Negotiate deals renew credit lines and help the global bankers to renew financial programs.

• Evaluate and assess current and potential returns and make pricing decisions in collaboration with the Pricing Specialist.

• Manage account notifying the overrun to the affected customers and offering them different facilities to regularize debit positions.

• Supervise and support the Middle Office with incidences that may occur.

• Liaise and work alongside with other CIB front units in order to increase cross selling and CIB support units for the deal execution.

• Register modify and update customers business opportunities timely and accurately in the in-house client management tools and data sources for pipeline and profitability reporting.

• Acts as first line of defense and understand the Banks risk appetite while balancing business goals and objectives.

• Understand the creditworthiness of each client register the proposal in the risk management tool and participate in different committees in order to defend credit proposals and get Risks approval.

• Stay abreast of the specific regulatory and compliance framework that may be affected.

• Understand and comply with all internal and external policies and procedures.

• To offer to clients all the GTB products including: working capital solutions (factoring and supply chain finance) cash management documentary credits guarantees and standby letters of credit structured trade finance products.

• Proactively follow up clients by identifying their needs and providing them with the most appropriate advice and solutions (Advisory approach).

• Promote a sustainable approach to finance with clients in line with the banks strategy.

Requirements

• College degree (preferably in Economics and Business Administration) CFA MBA MS or other specific Trade Finance training will be valued.

• Relevant experience in a Trade Finance related activity.

• Have a thorough understanding of the Trade Finance Products (Receivables Finance Letters of Credit Bonds Forfaiting Supply Chain Finance).

• Experience in structured working capital finance (Inventory Finance Borrowing Base Prepayments structure).

• Deep knowledge of the credit country & operational risks as well as the profitability involved in the transactions.

• Understanding of the financial needs and flows of the clients.

• Familiar with the German Trade Finance market.

• Understanding of the world economy and financial situation.

• Fluent in German and English. Spanish and other languages are a plus.

• Strong influencing and negotiation skills.

• Able to work under time pressure.
