Product Line Market Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to drive sales performance and increase existing business opportunities by supporting the Sales organization with in-depth knowledge of Continuous Gas Analyzers and ABB's global Measurement and Analytics division. Each day, you will support the assigned Sales teams and customers in the market throughout the sales process, ensuring that targets are met and customer expectations are exceeded. You will also demonstrate your expertise by participating in sales strategy discussions, setting short and long-term goals and negotiating sales budgets and marketing plans. You will be mainly accountable for :

  • Supporting the sales team and customers throughout the sales process by providing technical support, product presentations and training, while enhancing business development through increased market and product knowledge.
  • Identifying customer needs and competitive offerings through market analysis, ensuring effective marketing activities and clear communication of the value proposition of products and services.
  • Performing sales performance reviews, proposing recovery plans for potential order shortfalls, and generating sales reports to support production planning and strategic decision-making.
  • Taking ownership of specific customer cases, ensuring timely resolution of issues and analysing lost proposals to improve future sales strategies. Join an expert-driven, customer-focused team where your insight and expertise will have a direct impact on sales success and market growth.

Qualifications for the role

  • You are highly skilled in technical sales and business development within the industrial measurement sector, with a strong understanding of industrial processes, measurement applications, and sensor technologies.
  • Preferably, you have at least 2 years of experience in direct sales or business development, working as a technical sales engineer to support industrial customers in understanding their measurement requirements and proposing the right solutions. However, a strong commercial mindset and the willingness to learn about Continuous Gas Analyzer products and their applications are even more important.
  • You possess exceptional spoken and written communication skills, strong negotiation abilities, and a customer-focused mindset, paired with a professional, "can-do" attitude.
  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a technical field is preferred.
  • You are fluent in English, both spoken and written. Proficiency in any other language is a strong plus for effective collaboration with regional customers and colleagues. German language skills are also a plus.
  • You are willing to travel across the countries you are responsible for to meet customers, support sales teams, and strengthen business relationships.
