European XFEL GmbH
European XFEL is an international non-profit company located in the Hamburg area in Germany. It operates a 3.4 km-long X-ray laser, which produces X-rays of unique quality for studies in physics, chemistry, the life sciences, materials research and other disciplines. The diverse scientific facilities at European XFEL enable scientists from across the globe to carry out a wide range of experimental techniques.
The Safety and Radiation Protection Group (SRP) offers a diverse and engaging working environment, covering a broad range of safety topics across European XFEL. The team works at the interface between users, scientists, technical groups, and management, addressing challenges related to experimental safety, radiation protection, chemical safety, and operational processes in a complex international research facility.

Specialist for Experimental Safety and Project Coordination (f / m / d)
The Position
To support the increasing number and complexity of user experiments and to further develop experiment safety processes, we are seeking a specialist to join the Experiment Safety team. The position combines responsibility for the risk analysis of user experiments with active involvement in the coordination and implementation of a safety-related project, including organizational and project management tasks. The role offers a high degree of independence, close interaction with an international user community, and the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of safety structures at a large-scale research facility.
