Your Career

The Field CSO is a well known cybersecurity expert fortheir region, responsible for building trusted advisorrelationships with customer CISOs, CIOs and other IT executives,while capturing mindshare of the wider CxO community. They will dothis by articulating the value Palo Alto Networks can bring withthe goal to influence and advise leading companies in evolvingtheir cyber security capabilities. With growing trust, the FieldCSO will help customers define a strategic journey towards CyberResilience, leveraging industry standards, frameworks, and commonpractices. This role also requires demonstration of thoughtleadership by actively participating in industry events to deliverkeynotes and active engagement in key industry or governmentalgroups. In Key Opportunities, the field CISO will be an activemember of the account team and own peer relationships throughoutthe campaign. Lastly, the Field CISO will provide cross functionalguidance including but not limited to selling techniques, marketawareness and product direction.

Your Impact

Deepknowledge of security frameworks (NIST, ISO27001, etc) and localcybersecurity regulations, articulate Palo Alto Networks ability tobring value

  • Ability to add value to customerCISO’s by sharing experiences and providing guidance on board-levelmessaging, internal project selling, stakeholder alignment,etc.
  • Craft and deliver C-level messagingfocused on security trends, known customer challenges and bestpractices in cybersecurity, with a focus on positioning securityoutcomes
  • TechnicalKnowledge
  • Ability to integrate Palo AltoNetworks Portfolio value into the customer’s cybersecuritytransformation plan, addressing specific businesschallenges

  • Ability to articulate high-leveltechnical differentiation from the competition across NetworkSecurity, SASE, Cloud and SOC transformation
  • Possesses the ability to bridge the gap between deeptechnical content and information that a C-level executive candigest and use to make quality decisions
  • Field Impact
  • Proactivelyhelp organizations understand their cyber risk landscape and createa business target architecture addressing their long-termcybersecurity strategies

  • Act as a trustedadvisor for a number of strategic customers and help them driveplatform adoption within their organizations
  • Key member of the account team in assigned opportunities- owns peer relationships and participates in opportunity reviews,strategy sessions and customer interactions from early stage todeal closure.
  • Has an established engagementmodel with the field with widely understood deliverables
  • Leverages company resources such as EBCs and BusinessValue Consulting, Customer Success, and Consulting teams to helpreduce the time to close larger opportunities
  • Regularly produces content for field consumption toimpact awareness, sales tactics and raise the skill set of ourteams
  • Delivers targeted Platform or IndustryCxO roundtables for select audiences, based on local fielddemand
  • Provides guidance designed for ProductManagement, Marketing and Global Policy teams or other internalteams, in regard with the local market trends and expectations inthe long term (1-3 years)
  • Provides technicaland local industry related guidance relatively to local governmentsrelationships, e.g. for national products certifications incybersecurity or operational partnerships with governmentalentities, in close coordination with the Global Policy team andUnit 42 Threat Research team
  • Market and Brand Impact
  • Deliverthought leadership content at marquee conferences and Palo AltoNetworks sponsored events, in partnership with local FieldMarketing teams

  • Owns customer executiveadvisory board motion in specified geography
  • Active member in Industry Associations / Communities,applying appropriate regional influence be they standards,government or industry driven
  • Leverages socialmedia and PR engagements to influence the market at large andengage with the wider community via blog posts, white papers, Pressinterviews, etc.
  • Your Experience

  • Past experience as a CSO / CISO in largecorporate enterprise, plus customer facing experience in a vendoror consulting organisation
  • Well known in theregion as a cybersecurity expert
  • Has a visionfor the cybersecurity future and can help us think through anddevelop the roadmap
  • Possesses the ability tobridge the gap between deep technical content and information thata C-Level executive can digest and use to make qualitydecisions
  • Technical enough to understandvarious technologies and have credibility with customers
  • Has credibility in front of large audiences as well asone-on-one meetings
  • Excellent written andverbal communication skills in English and German, interpersonaland collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate securityand risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnicalaudiences
  • An innovative thinker, with greatproblem-solving skills
  • Bachelor degree inBusiness, Information Security, Computer Science, InformationManagement Systems, or related field or equivalent militaryexperience - master’s preferred
  • Minimum of 8+years of experience in a combination of risk management,information security and IT jobs – at least four must be in asenior leadership role
  • Employment history mustdemonstrate increasing levels of responsibility
  • Demonstrated industry expertise through contributions tosecurity industry groups, speaking at industry events, and / orwriting blogs and whitepapers on advanced cyber security techniquesand tools
