Your mission
We're backend people. Comfortable in the console, happy writing Rust and Java. But now we need to build actual user-facing applications : dashboards, configuration UIs, operational tools - and we're out of our depth. We've built the backend, now it's your opportunity to make it look great, accessible for non-console people and easier to manage. That's where you come in.
Design and build frontend applications (bonus points if you can handle the backend bits too)
Work with the product team on scoping the requirements and dependencies needed from them to help you deliver solutions that fit well with the platform.
Talk to customers about what they actually want
Have opinions about our products and share them
Your profile
Solid experience with Svelte, SvelteKit, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, TailwindCSS - the fundamentals - are is a must
Familiarity with the rest of our stack (Kubernetes, Rust, Java, backend work in general) is a plus!
Comfortable working in the open, we’re an open source company so at least some of your work will be open source
Some understanding of data technologies (we deploy things like Apache Kafka, Trino, Apache Spark, etc.)
You need the permits to be allowed to work in the EU or UK
Why us?
We're a European company building open-source infrastructure that gives organisations real digital sovereignty. The tech is interesting, the problems are real and mostly fun, and you'll have actual influence on what we build.
We don't do Scrum or sprints - no artificial deadlines from management. We keep meetings to a minimum and expect you to make decisions yourself. Management's job is to keep distractions away from you, not create them.
What we offer
100% remote working anywhere in Germany or the UK
Flat hierarchy with short decision paths. Really!
Flexible working hours
A team that won't pretend to know more about frontend than you do
