Job Description :

Principal Engineer Product Engineer in Microchips Automotive Products Group (APG)

As a Principal Engineer in Microchips Automotive Products Group (APG) you will serve as a critical technical interface among Microchips business units automotive customers and field sales teams. Your primary focus will be to drive design wins and secure new automotive business by ensuring that new product development aligns with automotive design test manufacturing and reliability standards. You will also support customer evaluations by addressing inquiries related to Microchips capabilities manufacturing processes quality systems and product offerings.

Job Responsibilities

• Guide and advise new silicon product development teams to ensure products meet automotive market requirements for design-for-test reliability outlier detection and AEC-Q100 qualification.
• Take ownership of investigating and preparing responses to customer non-standard questions and requests (NSCARs) gathering and presenting information from various internal sources.
• Support and ensure compliance with automotive industry standards including IATF 16949 APQP PPAP and change management processes.
• Collaborate with and lead informal cross-functional teams to address technical and business challenges.
• Review and approve Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.
• Communicate effectively with customers regarding proposed product changes and technical details.
• Build and maintain strong trusted relationships with key automotive customers and internal stakeholders.
