OVERVIEW :
Cotton Council International (CCI) located in Washington DC is a non-profit organization that works on behalf of the US cotton industry to promote US cotton around the world in order to drive exports.
JOB DESCRIPTION :
As the Lead Consultant of Technical Services for CCI, this role is designed to be the repository for all technical services, studies and content involving cotton as it is processed from fiber into garments.
- Initiate and manage all technical studies that attempt to prove the superiority of US cotton. Excellent performance means thinking of new studies that build on our existing knowledge base and address key obstacles for mills and manufacturers to use US cotton.
- Develop relevant, interesting and motivating presentations, both Power Point and potentially videos that communicate the studies to our target audiences and can be delivered via Cotton Days, Technical seminars etc. Train our CCI reps in the studies learnings and train them on how to present the information. Excellent performance means that the reps can successfully deliver the information.
- Build a technical services organization in CCI by hiring technical consultants in key countries for US cotton that can make the presentations described in number 3 and also help with onsite technical assistance.
- Create new ideas that can bring added value to CCI services.
- Work closely with NCC on key technical topics including bale packaging and cotton quality measures and ensure that the CCI staff is kept up to date on all new and relevant information.
- Be a supportive and collegial team member working with both US and international staff.
- Meet all timetables and budgets.
JOB REQUIREMENTS :
Over 25 years of experience in textile manufacturing, consulting or related roles.Experience in consulting and leading teams of consultants.Experience with data analysis and interpretation.Proven ability to speak in front of large audiences and communicate effectively.Ability to develop presentations from data and deliver in sales calls.Willingness to travel internationally up to 26 weeks per year.Experience in multiple countries with textiles especially in countries like China, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Thailand and Indonesia.A team player who can participate in a team environmentCOMPENSATION :
