Schneider Electric is excited to announce an opening for a Senior HiL (Hardware on the Loop) Developer / Test Engineer Position at our Regensburg, Germany location. This role is situated within our Power Systems division, which is dedicated to driving key initiatives in design and development to address current and future technological demands.

We are looking for a highly experienced Senior HiL Developer / Test Engineer (f / m / d) to join our team. In this position, you will take the lead in designing and developing real-time models for HiL testing of our cutting-edge power electronic systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the entire HiL testing process, from concept through execution, ensuring that the designs meet stringent performance, quality, and reliability standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to achieve these objectives.

Your IMPACT :

  • Design real-time models to verify and validate medium voltage converters.
  • Develop comprehensive test plans and procedures for SIL, HIL, and PHIL testing of power electronics systems.
  • Interpret test requirements from standards and design specifications to prepare test benches.
  • Use electronic instrumentation platforms to simulate real-world conditions accurately.
  • Conduct various tests, including performance, reliability, environmental, and safety assessments.
  • Analyze test results and create detailed reports.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues in power electronics systems, recommending design improvements based on test results.

  • Your profile :

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering or related field; PhD preferred.
  • Extensive expertise in power electronics systems and their operational characteristics.
  • Strong understanding of real-time simulators and Rapid Control Prototyping (RCP) platforms.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in developing and implementing HIL testing systems, preferably with OPAL-RT.
  • Proficient with test equipment like oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and data acquisition systems.
  • Familiarity with industry standards for test requirements and version control systems like GitHub.
  • Knowledge of automation tools (e.g., Jenkins) and comfortable working in Linux environments.
  • Proactive and detail-oriented team player with strong problem-solving skills, ready to offer alternative solutions and take initiative.
