About the role :
Join our dynamic Billie team as the Senior Data Analytics Manager, based in the vibrant city of Berlin, Germany. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the leadership of our small but strong and cutting-edge business analytics function, overseeing the analytics needs of the whole company.
As a Senior Data Analytics Manager you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of data Analysts, guiding them in delivering high-quality, actionable insights that drive business decisions.
You will play a pivotal role in defining the analytics strategy, setting team priorities, and ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
Your strong leadership skills, combined with deep expertise in data analytics, will be essential in fostering Billie’s data-driven culture and achieving our strategic objectives.
As a key member of Billie, reporting to the VP of Data Science and Risk, your primary responsibility will be to create valuable insights that contribute to informed decision-making, specifically supporting effectively risk management of Billie's entire lending portfolio.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data analysts, fostering professional growth and development.
- Manage resources, budgets, and timelines to meet project deadlines and deliverables.
Analytics Leadership
- Define and drive the analytics strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and priorities.
- Oversee the development and delivery of analytical projects, ensuring accuracy, quality, and relevance of insights.
- Foster a data-driven culture, promoting the use of data and analytics to inform decision-making.
- Develop and implement best practices for data modeling, analysis, reporting, and visualization.
Insights and Analysis
- Generate meaningful insights related to risk models, delinquency, and net loss performance, comparing these with approval rates to steer portfolios effectively.
- Delivering high quality reports, dashboards and documentation tailored to the needs and the audience with the right level detail.
- Ensure effective communication of insights and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels of the organization; provide education to internal and, where necessary, external stakeholders.
- Own the definition and standardization of key business metrics to stakeholders.
Collaboration and Strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Decision Science, Data Engineering, Product, Business Development to identify and address analytical needs.
- Proactively identify opportunities and recommend adjustments to Billie's decision strategies and product functionalities to mitigate risk.
Infrastructure Enhancement
- Support improvements in data and platform infrastructure to enhance analytics capabilities and tools.
- Drive continuous improvement in analytics processes, tools, and methodologies.
Who we are looking for :
- You have proven experience in leading and managing a team of data analysts or similar roles
- You have strong analytical skills, with expertise in data analysis, interpretation, and visualization
- You are a strategic thinker and have problem-solving skills, with a focus on driving business impact
- You have strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering projects on time and within scope
- You have a strong technical proficiency : advanced skills in SQL, and modern business intelligence tools (Tableau, Looker, PowerBI, Sisense)
- You know programming languages (R, Python) and have knowledge of statistical analysis and machine learning techniques
- You have experience with data transformation tools (e.g. DBT) and data warehousing solutions (e.g. Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and recommendations
- You are able to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
