Our client is a private label producer of high-quality dry & wet pet food, biscuits and snacks.

Operating since 1994 they are a family business with more than 25 years of experience.

With a tailor made approach and as true channel specialists, they guide and consult their customers from the idea to the final product.

The Sales Director / General Manager for Germany will be responsible for overall business development of our client's footprint in the German market and will act as key management representative in the country.

The successful candidate will open the German market whilst generating customer acquisition and revenue growth by developing key growth sales strategies, tactics and action plans.

Scope of the role :

The ideal candidate should be ready to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of sales operations and processes and have experience in building complex and successful sales strategies

Retail experience and overall management in terms of growth, development and profitability with reagrds to partners and clients including alliances stakeholders

Owning and exceeding the company’s sales targets within assigned territory.

Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand the company’s customer portfolio whilst building strong, long-lasting customer relationships.

Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives.

Establishing and building business relationships with key partners in the market (Retail, suppliers and other participants)

Adapting and leading marketing and sales strategies and activities in the German market to drive sales growth (while working closely the Management Team in Belgium).

Establishing the brand in the German market both towards consumers as well as suppliers and key stakeholders.

Acting as a General Manager of operations, establishing overall operating processes whilst operating the adequate business plan and regularly reporting performance the management team in Belgium

Who are we looking for ?

At least 10 years of experience in business building in a decision-making level role in a high-growth company having the taste to build up "from scratch"

Engineering background, the ideal candidate has an experience in the food industry with control of industrial processing.

Proven sales executive experience in a family business, meeting or exceeding targets

Successful track record in Business development / from scratch and stand alone.

Knowledge in industrial process and in retail - Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization

Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close - Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and to position products against competitor.

An "intrapreneur" profile, the candidate is versatile, ambitious, hard-working and results oriented.

A team player, capable of taking decisions and with a long-term vision and particularly self-driven whilst being rigorous, inventive, innovative and daring.

A man / woman of strategy but also of the field demonstrating a high degree of autonomy, a keen sense of organization, with excellent interpersonal skills and natural ease.

A hunter with business acumen and commercial gravitas able to operate with data driven approach.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, he or she is able to adapt to a wide range of stakeholders.

Entrepreneurial spirit and openness to think in terms of opportunities rather than problems and analytical and data-driven thinking as well as decision-making.

Native German and bilingual English are mandatory.

Full time permanent contract with possibility of fast track career progression
