IT System Engineer (m/f/d)
Job Description
- Installation, configuration and maintenance of server hardware and operating systems
- Manage network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs
- Manage virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V and maintain virtual server environments
- Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Perform routine infrastructure maintenance activities, including patch management, firmware upgrades, and system backups
- Monitor system resource utilization, capacity planning, and implement scaling measures
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to resolve operations-related issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in information technology or a related field
- Several years of experience as a IT Systems Engineer (m / f / d) or in a similar role in the development and management of complex IT infrastructures
- Solid knowledge of server hardware, operating systems (Windows and Linux) and virtualization technologies
- Experience configuring and managing network technologies such as switches, routers, firewalls, and VPNs, as well as cloud computing platforms (e.
g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
- Familiar with IT security principles and best practices, including network security, access controls, and vulnerability management
- Confident knowledge of monitoring and performance analysis tools to proactively detect and remediate infrastructure issues
- Fluent English and German skills
