Responsibilities include :

  • Perform mechanical design for automated electrophoresis instrumentation during development through product release including creating drawings, BOM’s and working with suppliers on the design and purchase of parts
  • Actively participate in multi-functional project team meetings during product development (comprised of mechanical, electronics, firmware, software, applications, marketing, manufacturing, etc.)
  • Presenting technical concepts and designs to project during design reviews
  • Solve and analyze technical issues in depth to understand core problems and provide sound solutions
  • Support manufacturing if needed for improvement projects after products are released

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field
  • Proficient years of extensive work experience in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency with 3D parametric CAD modeling software, preferably Siemens NX CAD
  • Experience in designing, building, and testing new products in an R&D environment applying relevant industry standards and engineering guidelines
  • Good understanding of common manufacturing processes as well as manufacturing methods and production-oriented design
  • Experience in designing optical systems would be an advantage
  • Self-starter in conceptualizing and designing novel products, component design, or concepts
  • Fluent German and good English communication skills
