At Vicoland, we give the gig economy a new dimension : Virtual Companies, in short : “Vicos”. We invented Vicos to allow freelancers to team up and act as if they were a real company, competing successfully for interesting, large projects.

Our SaaS platform provides all the tech which enables the collaboration of Vicos and their clients & a marketplace that matches them together.

Our Vicos are already transforming how digital projects are done - since our launch last year, they worked with several world-renowned clients and partners such as Netflix, Smart, Samsung, Tupperware, BectonDickinson, HDI and Colliers . We were mentioned by Forbes and Forrester as the leading marketplace for freelance teams.

We are currently facing a hyper-growth stage where our demand jumps by 20% month over month, and are focusing on keeping this demand coming in

To support our business development team in meeting this challenge, we are looking for an business development manager with a keen interest in enabling the scalability of our business.

We're a team of 40+ people located across Europe and the US.

Tasks

What you’ll do

  • Work directly with the CEO and Head of business developmet to translate strategy and key targets into concrete action plans & execute on them
  • You will be the central manager of our sales cycle, from new customer acquisition and contract negotiations to building long-term, sustainable relationships.
  • Together with Account Directors and subject experts you pursue high satisfaction of demanding clients and corresponding revenue.
  • You will pull all the strings when it comes to making our business development processes work effectively and efficiently.
  • You will take responsibility for continuously improving these processes.
  • You identify opportunities and take initiative to drive results from lead generation to order intake and client retention.
  • You interact and communicate in informed and convincing ways with clients and internal stakeholders on all levels, including C-level.
  • You manage marketing activities and contribute ideas to shape our brand image.
  • You will support our Vicoland Partner Management team. You will actively source & manage candidates : Find, qualify and onboard them so they can build a winning Vico.

Requirements

On the look for

  • University or Technical University degree with good or very good results.
  • First professional experience in B2B sales or account management (could also have been just an internship or vocational training), including usage of corresponding tools (e.g. CRM).
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience in leading discussions while offering a high degree of empathy.
  • Innovative and ambitious mindset, with a strong will “to push the envelope”.
  • Affinity to information technology and technical products in general. (SAP knowledge is a plus)
  • Fluent in German and English.
