Compliance Specialist

Freelance NIS2 GRC Specialist | 12 Month Contract | Hybrid North Rhein-Westphalia | Defence

CBSButler are supporting a leading defence organisation in aligning its cybersecurity posture with the NIS2 Directive, particularly around governance, supply chain risk, and incident response planning.

This will be a 12 month rolling contract, and we can pay up to €950 per day for the right candidate.

You will work closely with group IT security, internal audit, and legal teams to lead risk assessments and improve NIS2 readiness across several business units. You will be ensuring cybersecurity governance documentation is audit-ready, conducting NIS2 gap assessments across digital systems, networks, and third-party vendors. Work with internal development teams to improve secure SDLC practices, and lead the implementation of compliance frameworks aligned with EU and national defence regulations.

Please see below for what we're looking for :

• Strong experience in Cybersecurity compliance, Information Risk, or GRC roles previously
• You will need strong working knowledge of the NIS2 framework, and ideally familiarity with ISO 27001, and CIS Controls
• Experience in defence, aerospace, or critical infrastructure sectors would be preferred but not essential
• Familiarity with secure cloud architecture would also be an advantage but not essential
• You must hold EU citizenship and have the ability to undergo clearance
