ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. in and growing private sector fundraising and partnerships. Serving as a broker between WFP and theprivate sector WFPs Private Partnerships and Fundraising Division (PSP) strives to mobilizefunding technical assistance innovative solutions and visibility and awareness to help WFP fulfilits mission while offering companies and the wider public the opportunity to contribute to a worldwith zero hunger.

ShareTheMeal is WFPs fundraising and awareness-raising app. Free to download the award-winningapp is a pioneering way for people to join our efforts in creating a world with zero hunger.

ShareTheMeal was launched in 2015 as the first pilot of WFPs Innovation Accelerator which amongother things supports start-ups and innovators in developing their ideas fo zero hunger.

ShareTheMeal currently has more than 1.9 million users worldwide who

have shared more than 290 million meals (US$ 200 million). WFP is pursuing an ambitious growthstrategy for individual giving and ShareTheMeal is a key driver for this strategy going forward.

The team located in Berlin and remotely is focused on increasing the funds raised to help get tozero hunger by further developing the app to include new and innovative features increasing the

engagement of existing users and growing the user base through marketing and communicationinitiatives. As the user base has grown there is a significant opportunity to increase fundsraised from existing users and deliver an exceptional experience to build a long-term relationshipwith each supporter.

PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT
As the technical leader for ShareTheMeals QA function define and execute the Testing strategythat enables the organization to scale from 1.9M to 10M users while maintaining exceptional user
experience and operational efficiency impacting an annual revenue of $30 million USD.

ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
The Consultant reporting to the Head of ShareTheMeal Software Engineering Engineering is expected
to:
1. Strategic Leadership & Team Development

• 1. Build and lead a high-performing QA team through coaching mentorship and regular 1:1s thatdrive individual growth and team capability
• 2. Define and evolve the QA strategy standards and best practices that scale with ShareTheMealsmission and growth

2. Quality Ownership & Risk Management

• 1. Own quality outcomes for all iOS Android and web releases ensuring features meet userexpectations and technical standards before production
• 2. Identify assess and proactively mitigate quality risks across the platform translatingtechnical concerns into business impact for stakeholders

3. Test Strategy & Execution

• and execute comprehensive test strategies spanning manual exploratory testing UAT coordination and regression coverage
• testing activities based on user impact risk exposure and release timelines optimizing team effort for maximum quality assurance

4.Automation & Efficiency

• the automation roadmap across mobile apps web and API layers reducing manual testing burden and accelerating release velocity
• and continuously improve test coverage defect detection rates and testing efficiency

5.Cross-functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product and Design teams during requirements review to shape testable features and define acceptance criteria early
• Act as the quality advocate in planning discussions ensuring non-functional requirements (performance security accessibility) receive appropriate attention

DELIVERABLES AT THE END OF THE CONTRACT

Comprehensive documentation and well-structured test plans
A maintainable and triaged bug tracking system

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education
University degree in Computer Science or related field.
Work history
At least 5 years of experience in software testing; prior experience with mobile app web and API testing (manual and automated) is a must
Technical expertise
Good understanding of web and mobile app UX and a keen eye for detail
Good understanding of RESTful APIs HTTP methods and error codes
Experience with a scripting language (Python or JS)
Experience with app and web testing frameworks like Cypress Maestro etc.
Knowledge of modern testing strategies
Good understanding of Agile principles
Soft skills
Good people management skills
Strong analytical abilities both quantitative and qualitative
Ability to interact with managers and peers with maturity
Strong interpersonal skills
Collaborative spirit able to liaise with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility and diplomacy
Strong time management skills with an ability to plan anticipate requirements problems and obstacles and an ability to juggle competing priorities successfully and to work to tight deadlines
Self-motivated and able to work with a high degree of autonomy
Fully committed and motivated to achieve the aims of the World Food Programme
Language(s)
Excellent command of spoken and written English
Intermediate knowledge of another official UN language would be a plus (Arabic Chinese French Russian Spanish)
