Who you are

This position is to be filled full-time at the earliest possible date until 31 August 2026.

  • We don't care what professional education you have or what you studied. What matters is that you have proven track record in the Leadership of communication teams and communication agencies
  • You have a passion for home furnishing and digital retail trends and implementing them in communication strategies
  • You have many years of professional experience (at least 10+ years) in the agency environment (e.g. as Strategy Director) or at corporate side (as Head of Corporate or Brand Communications)
  • Ideally, you have industry experience in retail and have already worked on international brands
  • You develop clear positioning and surprising 360 degree campaign strategies that know how to convince our target groups
  • You have deep knowledge in media relations - product and brand communication and brand positioning, with a proven track record of managing media relationships effectively
  • You have a good network within the German media landscape and experience in establishing close relationships with senior journalists
  • You can compile the results of press work into concise, impactful reports for C-level stakeholders
  • You are familiar with the media landscapeand have up-to-date knowledge of traditional and social media platforms, their usage, and methods for measuring their impact
  • You understand IKEA's corporate identityand know IKEA's core values and vision, ensuring accurate and consistent representation in all communications
  • You are skilled in stakeholder managementand create engaging communication while effectively managing relationships with media and other stakeholders
  • Strong text and language skills in German and English (written and spoken)
  • Your responsibilities

  • You develop and implement positioning strategiesby creating and executing comprehensive communication strategies at the country level, focusing on both earned and owned media
  • You promote and protect the IKEA brandby developing and maintaining strong relationships with media and influencers to enhance and safeguard the brand's reputation
  • You engage in proactive and reactive communicationby managing proactive and reactive communication efforts through media and strategic influencers to address both opportunities and challenges
  • You strengthen communication preparedness for crisesby developing and implementing plans to handle reputational issues and crises, ensuring the organization is prepared to respond effectively
  • You identify and support IKEA leaders as communicatorsby training and supporting IKEA leaders to be effective and inspiring communicators, acting as spokespersons when appropriate
  • You increase brand awarenessby utilizing targeted media strategies and co-leading events to elevate brand awareness and engage the public effectively
