is a non-profit, funding organization based in Hamburg, Germany, dedicated to enhancing the livelihoods of smallholder coffee farmers and their families. To this end, we support projects in Ethiopia and Uganda as well as internationally at sector level. We are committed to finding the most effective support services for our target group and constantly test, evaluate and improve existing approaches. By actively sharing lessons learned with the sector, we aim at widening our impact beyond our scope of work.

To strengthen our team of motivated and impact-driven experts in Hamburg, we are looking for a Working Student (f / m / d) in Data Management & Analysis for rural development within the coffee sector.

Your responsibilities :

As a working student at HereWeGrow, you will manage, analyze and visualize monitoring, evaluation and financial data to ensure that relevant data is easily accessible to the team and enables data-driven decision making in the organization. Your tasks include :

  • Data management of monitoring, evaluation and financial data
  • Quality control and validation of monitoring data
  • Data analysis using Excel and statistical software
  • Data visualization , e.g. in the form of diagrams, tables, infographics and maps
  • Feeding project impact models to evaluate the Social Return on Investment of our work
  • Maintenance of our financial and outreach dashboards in PowerBI
  • Support with administrative tasks in the team

You will be part of the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning team and supervised by one of our MEL Managers.

Your profile :

  • Educational Background : Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in data science, business intelligence, economics, business administration, or a related field, with at least 12 months remaining.
  • Technical Skills and Experience : Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience in statistical software (e.g., R, SPSS, Stata), data base management (e.g., SQL), data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau and / or geospatial analysis (ArcGIS Online, QGIS) is a plus.
  • Language Proficiency : Fluent in English; knowledge of German is a plus.
  • Analytical Skills : Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Work Style : Structured and independent with high attention to detail and quality.
  • Teamwork : Comfortable working in a cross-functional, international team.
  • Learning Orientation : Eager to learn and acquire new skills.
  • Passion for Data : Enthusiastic about using data to create social impact.
  • Location : Reside in Hamburg or willing to visit our Hamburg office regularly.
