Giesecke+Devrient (G+D) is seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Solution Architect to support the further development of our software solutions portfolio—ranging from high-performance banknote processing systems to SaaS offerings for cash-in-transit (CIT) operations. Our solutions support the world’s leading central and commercial banks in optimizing cash management processes, increasing transparency, and improving operational efficiency.As a Solution Architect, you will shape the architecture and evolution of our existing and future product portfolio across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments. The portfolio spans physical hardware solutions for banknote processing, on-premises software products, cloud-native applications, and data platforms.You will define end-to-end customer solutions based on our current and future product portfolio, with a strong focus on integrating physical products - such as banknote processing systems - into complex customer IT infrastructures. This includes aligning hardware, on-premises software, cloud services, and data platforms into coherent, scalable, and customer-specific solutions.
Your responsibilities :
- Develop hybrid cloud and on-prem integration patterns, ensuring interoperability across environments, digital as well as physical products
- Design modern, scalable cloud architectures on Microsoft Azure
- Define and maintain integration architectures across multiple products
- Establish and evolve modern architectural styles (e.g. modular monoliths, microservices, DDD, API-first), maintain architecture blueprints and standards, and ensure the systematic identification and reduction of technical debt
- Act as a hands-on architect with the ability to prototype, validate concepts, and support teams with complex design
- Act as Product Owner for cross-functional architectural topics (e.g., integration patterns, cloud governance, shared libraries, platform services)
- Facilitate alignment across multiple development teams, QA, DevOps, Product Owners, and security stakeholders
- Work hands-on with development teams in Munich and India across all phases of the product development lifecycle, supporting architecture-driven decisions from ideation through deployment and operations
- Work closely with Product Management, Service, Security, and Legal to turn business and regulatory requirements into practical, scalable, and secure architectural designs
Your qualifications :
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field8+ years of professional experience in software architecture and design, ideally in industrial or financial domainsExpertise in cloud architecture (preferred Azure)Deep understanding of on-prem, hybrid cloud, and cloud integration scenariosProven experience in designing interfaces and integrations between complex enterprise systemsBroad technology know how and solid hands-on developer experience with Java, Spring Boot and modern web architectures (e.g. RESTful APIs, OAuth2, OpenAPI, Event-Driven)Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to explain complex architectural concepts to non-technical audiencesAbility to collaborate with globally distributed and cross-functional teamsVery good written and spoken German and Englisch Skills
