Your BIG challenge as a Supplier Quality Assurance Manager

First and foremost : this is SQA pioneering on a truly magnificent scale! As we continue to extend the scope of our Supplier Quality Assurance team, consisting of 20+ multicultural professionals, we are creating this new position for an entrepreneurial SQA professional who can shape processes, as well as execute them efficiently. You will strengthen quality, food safety and sustainability with our suppliers, working in close collaboration and alignment with the Procurement Category Managers for Warehousing, Co-Packing, Value-Added Services, Road Transport, Pallets and Sea Freight.

You will evaluate suppliers, perform risk assessments and audits as part of our programs. You’ll be responsible for the approval and management of the suppliers in these categories, ensuring full compliance is reached. Where not fully defined yet, you will collaborate in the creation and amendment of standards, policies and programs in the logistics area.

The Supplier Quality Assurance Manager Logistics will be part of the Vendor Assurance - Indirects & Logistics team and will be based in Zevenaar (The Netherlands), Cologne, or Düsseldorf (Germany). This role involves EU travel and international travel.

Your responsibilities :

Develop the Logistics categories from a quality, food safety and sustainability point of view, in alignment with the Procurement Category Managers.

Perform vendor assessment and vendor management according to our Intersnack procedures.

Ensure compliance through risk assessments, vendor audits and vendor development.

Support vendors to provide services within agreed quality, food safety, technical and other standards, with compliance to social and ethical standards.

Work with vendors in case of any non-compliance, eliminating root causes to prevent recurrence.

Manage relationships with our factories to handle and resolve quality and food safety issues to reduce complaint levels.

Collaborate with both Central and Factory supply chain on logistics standards and opportunities.

Identify and jointly implement potential initiatives for improvement that could result in competitive advantage for Intersnack as well as our vendors.

Manage all Vendor Assurance systems and the data therein, ensuring information and documents stay up-to-date for your categories.

In addition, we ask for :

Bachelor / Master of Science degree in a science-based technical field (i.e. Chemistry, Microbiology, Food Science, Engineering), Advanced degree preferred.

Preferably 4+ years of experience in Supplier Quality Assurance, Quality Management or similar, in the FMCG and / or food industry. Work experience within Logistics or any other service provider is advantageous.

HACCP experience and certification.

Knowledge of Quality management systems and GFSI schemes (BRC / IFS / FSSC 22000).

Preferably qualified lead auditor or proven experience in quality auditing, with attention to detail.

Knowledge of current legislation, relevant to food manufacturing and logistics.

Experienced in conflict management. Project management knowledge is a plus.

Fluent English language skills – ability to speak, write and negotiate. German and additional language skills are a plus.

Proficient MS Office knowledge and preferably database management, including ERP systems.

A valid European driving license.
