Bryn Mawr Capital Management is seeking a Equity Analyst to join our collaborative and highly effective team. We manage a large and growing pool of assets across the US market capitalization spectrum with substantial track records. Our investment process is fundamental-based and seeks to identify equities priced at a discount to their long-term intrinsic value. The Equity Analyst will utilize a broad-based knowledge of investments and portfolio management concepts, experience to support the delivery of investment outcomes to meet or exceed client goals and objectives.
Job Responsibilities :
- Provide written research reports with thorough analysis of operations, market opportunity, and competitive positioning through the application of Porter’s Five Forces.
- Build and maintain financial models and relevant assumptions for current and potential recommendations.
- Deliver commentary for companies under coverage to provide accountability and support ongoing thesis.
- Apply firm’s valuation and competitive analysis framework to current and potential investment recommendations.
- Analyze and interpret emerging trends via primary research to drive a consistent flow of actionable ideas.
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly attribution calculations and explain key drivers of performance.
- Assist with broad thematic articles published on a quarterly or semi-annual basis.
- Communicate and build relationships with senior management of portfolio companies to understand strategy and capital allocation decisions.
- This is a generalist role, but experience researching the Consumer Discretionary sector is a plus.
- Attend client meetings to discuss firm’s viewpoints when needed.
- Manage the performance and expectations of the Equity Research Analyst team, which includes training, skill development, work allocation, problem resolution, performance evaluation, and hiring recommendations.
- Supports Investment group within Wealth Management by serving on committees and / or participating in departmental projects as assigned.
- Supports the mission, strategy, and values of Bryn Mawr Capital Management and WSFS Bank.
- Additional responsibilities as required (e.g., assistance with GIPS compliance).
Minimum Qualifications :
Must have a college degree and at least 5+ years of buy-side and / or sell-side experience, with samples of prior recommendations demonstrating a long-term discipline.CFA preferred.Must have the ability to demonstrate knowledge of financial modeling skills with detailed understanding of a cashflow, income statement, and balance sheet.Must have the capability to synthesize and distill large volumes of complex data and deliver an actionable conclusion in a timely fashion.Must have experience with growth and value styles across a small and large cap domestic universe.Must be capable of presenting an opposing viewpoint in a manner that promotes a deeper discussion to support / refute an investment recommendation.Must have the ability to operate as an “investigative journalist” and build a mosaic to support an investment thesis.Must be a passionate self-learner, capacity to become subject matter expert in a particular industry.Must have strong written and verbal skills and the ability to handle and deliver difficult client and management messages with tact and firmness.Must have the ability to work under minimal supervision while rotating from one task to another.Must have experience with FactSet and or Bloomberg.WSFS Bank is inclusive and supportive of individual needs.
