Key Account Manager, Ophthalmology (m/w/d) - Darmstadt, Freiburg
About This Job : As a Key Account Manager at Astellas Pharma GmbH, you are responsible for establishing and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with our customers.
You understand patient pathways and healthcare structures, are familiar with the needs of our customers, and ensure their effective service to achieve not only high customer satisfaction but also to enhance Astellas' reputation as a reliable partner in Ophthalmology and meet revenue goals.
Your responsibilities include engaging with key customers, conducting cross-functional regional analysis and management in relevant therapeutic areas, and understanding the processes and decision-making pathways among payers, service providers, healthcare professionals, and other stakeholders within local and clinic structures.
Key activities : Planning long-term account measures, including customer-specific communication and channel planning, setting quantitative / qualitative goals, and coordinating internal resources to support these measures.
Developing and implementing strategies for customer retention, market cultivation, and revenue growth. Identifying business opportunities with existing and potential customers.
Cultivating and building long-term customer relationships. Utilizing a CRM system to enhance the Customer Journey and conducting regular, structured analyses of customers, competition, and regions / accounts with subsequent feedback to leadership.
Essential Knowledge & Experience : Experience in sales, marketing, or a related field. Strong scientific understanding with the ability to engage in discussions at the same level as Ophthalmologists and other scientifically-oriented customers.
Knowledge and contacts in the Ophthalmological market, or a proven ability to quickly adapt to new therapeutic areas and build customer networks.
Extensive experience in interdisciplinary collaboration with departments such as marketing, sales, and support. This includes strong analytical skills for interpreting customer data, excellent negotiation skills, comprehensive customer service competencies, and outstanding communication skills with the ability to build successful relationships.
Experience with MS Office and CRM systems, as well as the ability to effectively use digital technologies, including iPhone and iPad.
Required Qualifications : A completed scientific degree or formal permission (according to HWG) to interact with professional groups.
