The University Computer Center (HRZ) is the central IT service provider of Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. It supports all members of the university in their respective areas of responsibility by providing IT infrastructure, various services, applications and comprehensive consulting and training services.

Your tasks :

Integration of customers and external networks, including Faculty 16 (Medicine) into the University's systems and procedures. This includes :

  • Development and implementation of network architectures and designs
  • Planning and implementation of network projects
  • Appropriate configuration of routers, switches, firewall and VPN
  • Operation of a dhcp service
  • Development of problem solutions in cooperation with the departments / institutes of the faculty
  • Further development and support of the systems mentioned in the team
  • Supporting the construction manager with development projects on the Niederrad campus
  • Your profile :

  • University degree in computer science / digital health or comparable knowledge, experience and / or skills
  • Several years of professional experience in the medical informatics field
  • several years of experience in network administration, ideally at a university
  • Sound knowledge of network protocols, technologies and standards (e.g. TCP / IP, VLAN, VPN, VoIP)
  • Experience in network administration and network security solutions
  • Knowledge in the configuration and administration of network hardware and software, preferably from Juniper and Forcepoint
  • Experience in configuration and management of routers, switches and firewalls
  • Experience in selecting or developing VPN solutions
  • Knowledge of IPV6
  • Experience in first and second level support
  • Experience in the management of IT projects
  • Knowledge of computer architectures and computer networks, operating systems, database and information systems in the healthcare sector, IT security
  • Fundamentals of medical informatics, biomedical informatics, health informatics
  • Ability to work in a team, strong communication skills and a high sense of responsibility
  • The position will be integrated into the "Logical Network Support" group. In addition to responsibility for the operation and further development of the systems in the technical team, participation in advising scientific customers on solving technical issues relating to their individual IT requirements is expected.

    Experience in the support of IT in larger scientific institutions and knowledge of the organizational structure of Goethe University Frankfurt are an advantage.
