We are a flexible, fast-moving team that isquickly advancing a potential therapy poised to have major impacton the lives of patients and their families. Our lead productcandidate, pridopidine, holds Orphan Drug Designation in bothHuntington’s disease (HD) and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)in the U.S. and EU, as well as Fast Track designation from the FDAfor the treatment of HD. Prilenia is anticipating a regulatoryfiling in HD in mid-2024 in the EU and preparing for a global Phase3 clinical trial in ALS.
Pridopidine has thepotential to be the first treatment to address HD disease clinicalprogression. Prilenia believes pridopidine’s novel mechanism ofaction as a sigma-1 receptor agonist also gives it potential innumerous other neurological diseases.

Aboutthe Role
We are seeking a highlymotivated, experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead ouroperations in Germany. The ideal candidate will have a strongbackground in the bio-pharmaceutical industry, particularly in rarediseases, and a proven track record of driving business growth andoperational excellence. As the General Manager, you will beresponsible for developing and executing strategic plans,overseeing all aspects of the German operations, and ensuring theachievement of business objectives, and you will be representingour company within the German market. You possess strong people andleadership skills. You have a proven track record of workingcross-functionally with the EuropeanLeadership.
This role will initially report tothe SVP, Commercial.
Prilenia has offices in theU.S., Israel and The Netherlands. Prilenia is a flexibleorganization that is mostly remote and encourages team members towork in the ways that make them most effective, with a focus on ourcommon goals and getting the job done.
StrategicLeadership :
- Develop and implement theoverall business strategy for the German market, aligned with thecompany’s global objectives.
- Identify andevaluate market opportunities, trends, and competitive landscape todrive growth and expansion.
- Build and maintainrelationships with key stakeholders, including healthcareproviders, regulatory authorities, and patient advocacygroups.
OperationalManagement :
Oversee day-to-dayoperations, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and legalrequirements.Manage the P&L for the Germanbusiness, optimizing financial performance and resourceallocation.Lead and develop a high-performingteam, fostering a culture of collaboration, inclusiveness,innovation, andaccountability.Commercial :
Developand execute sales and marketing strategies to maximize marketpenetration and product adoption.Ensurealignment with medical strategies and create a joint and focusedapproach.Ensure effective communication of thevalue proposition of our therapies to healthcare professionals andpatients.Monitor and analyze salesperformance, providing insights and recommendations forimprovement.Lead the appropriate Market AccessStrategy for the Germanmarket.Regulatory andCompliance :
Ensure compliance withall local regulatory requirements and industrystandards.Oversee the submission and approvalof marketing authorizations and other regulatoryfilings.Maintain up-to-date knowledge ofregulatory changes and their potential impact on thebusiness.StakeholderEngagement :
Represent the company atindustry events and meetings.Engage withpatient advocacy groups to support initiatives that increaseawareness and diagnosis, enhance patient care and access totherapies, and advocate for patient / caregiverneeds.Be an advocate for rareneurodegenerative and neurodevelopmental diseases to variousstakeholders.Act as the primary point ofcontact for key opinion leaders, payors, governmental officials,media and healthcare providers.KeyQualifications :
Bachelor’s degree inLife Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field;advanced degree (MBA, PhD, MD)preferred.Minimum of 10 years of experience inthe pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with a focus on rarediseases. (additional start-up and launch experience and inneurology / neurodegeneration are a plus)Proventrack record of successful leadership and business management,preferably in a general manager or hands-on senior executiverole.Strong understanding of the Germanhealthcare system, regulatory environment, and marketdynamics.Excellent strategic thinking,analytical, and problem-solvingskills.Exceptional communication, negotiation,and relationship-buildingabilities.Reliability andflexibility.Leadership experience with ademonstrated ability to start, build and developteams.Demonstrated ability to plan and executein a nimble and lean launch setting.Writtenand verbal communication skills.Fluent inGerman andEnglish.Location / Time / Travel
