About the Role :
As a Container Platform Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of managing and optimizing our Kubernetes clusters using Rancher.
Your role is pivotal in ensuring seamless deployment, operational efficiency, and robust security for our containerized workloads.
With no teleworking allowed, you will be an integral part of our on-site team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
Key Responsibilities :
- Kubernetes Management : Simplify the management of multiple Kubernetes clusters using Rancher, addressing operational and security challenges.
- Containerized Workloads : Deploy and manage containerized workloads, integrating tools for efficient container adoption in production environments.
- Enterprise Support : Utilize Rancher Prime to automate Kubernetes cluster deployment, ensuring a secure and collaborative container environment.
Profile Requirements :
- Experience : Proven experience as a Container Platform Administrator, with a focus on Kubernetes and Rancher in a production environment.
- Containerization : Deep understanding of containerization concepts and technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes / Rancher administration.
- DevOps Practices : Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools, including CI / CD pipelines, version control systems (e.g.
Git, Jenkins), and container registries (e.g., Harbor).
- Deployment Architecture : Familiarity with Application Deployment Target Architecture within the Container Platform (i.e., BMC Helix).
- System Administration : Proficiency in Linux / UNIX system administration and shell scripting.
- Networking : Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP / IP, DNS, and load balancing.
- ITIL Framework : Experience with ticket systems for incidents, problems, change management, and configuration management within the ITIL framework.
- Background : A background in IT, either through work experience or an IT-related degree.
- VMWare Knowledge : VMWare knowledge is a plus.
- Documentation : General skills in writing documentation.
- Certifications : Relevant certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Rancher Certified Specialist are advantageous.
- Microservices Architecture : Familiarity with microservices architecture and related technologies like service mesh is a plus.
- Container Security : Experience with container security tools and best practices, such as image scanning and runtime protection.
