Job Description :
The Clinical Service Representative I acts in a support role for the Wildlight Dental Clinic. The incumbent is responsible for greeting patients, answering all incoming calls, and for the front desk clinic / patient functions. This position provides specific customer services, which includes answering patient phone calls, scheduling appointments, payment collection, insurance verification, and pre-authorizations.
- Completes all front desk activities : Greets patients and checks them in for their scheduled appointment. Verifies responsible party identification and demographic information and ensures children present are with appropriate parent / guardian. Provides registration forms, release forms, and other forms to patients for electronic signature. Inputs (or verifies for returning patients) patient demographics, verification of identity, insurance, and registration information into Axium (electronic health record). Schedule follow-up appointments at checkout. Collects payments for services rendered.
- Customer service : Answers incoming calls from patients, dentists, and other dental care providers (internal and external), etc. Responds to patients’ and dentists’ questions directly within their scope.
- Arranges Care : Schedules patient appointments and obtains prior dental records (as needed). Arranges for special needs when applicable. Obtains initial patient insurance and demographic information to set up new patients in the electronic health record. Utilizes thorough knowledge of clinic policies and procedures. Follows policy for accepting patients into clinic, provides excellent customer service, and informs perspective patients of procedures and eligibility requirements to become a clinic patient. Obtains pre-authorizations as needed for clinical care and procedures.
- Works in conjunction with the UF College of Dentistry (UFCD) central Business Office to resolve any insurance, patient transaction or financial account errors.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred :
Obtain BLS (CPR Certification) within days of hire.Two years of appropriate dental office experience; including front desk / reception.Knowledge of all phases of dental treatment.Knowledge of clinic efficiency.Effective oral and written communication.Ability to set priorities.Ability to plan, organize, and perform work assignments.Attention to detail.Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with others.Practices clinic efficiency.Practices good time management.
