JOBSUMMARY

The Head of IT for our Heidelberg siteacts as the subject matter expert and single point of contact tothe plant business leadership team regarding any topic as itpertains to information technology. The Head of IT is capable ofunderstanding business requirements and translate such into ITrequirements. In this role you will be part of the Global ITLeadership Team reporting to the Vice President, GlobalIT.

ESSENTIAL JOBDUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintainclose relationships with Site Leadership Team and other businesspartners to understand site technology needs and supportrequirements across the site.
  • Ensure Site-ITInfrastructure lifecycle management and align to capacity growthproactively with accurateforecasts.
  • Maintenance of ITIL methodologies(incident, problem, change, configuration, release,capacity-management) in the ITSM platform,ServiceNow.
  • Work closely with manufacturing,operations technology and Quality to maintain and manage acompliant GxP environment.
  • Review multipleteam, group, or service deliverables to ensure quality (designwalk-through, test results, etc.) and adherence to processes,standards, and regulatoryrequirements.
  • Participate in all internal andexternal audits and provide services in a timelymanner.
  • Participate on the Global IT leadershipteam as a strategic thought partner in developing a world-classGlobal IT organization.
  • Communicate ITstrategies and roadmaps to SiteLeadership.
  • Manage or participate on projectsassigned by Global IT or business group.
  • Buildand maintain a close working relationship with the internal peersand the larger IT organization to provide services around networks,hosting, process control, monitoring, and ITsecurity.
  • Responsible for managing the local24x7 escalation process of problems to appropriate supportpersonnel. Evaluate business needs and alignment of workenvironment for possible process improvements and implementaccordingly.
  • Manages external partner andvendorrelationships.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Mastersdegree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, orequivalent work experience.
  • 8+ years of ITexperience, preferably experience in (pharmaceutical) manufacturingindustry, at least a mid-size plantrequired.
  • Broad understanding of systemsoperations, systems management, user support and help deskmethodologies.
  • Experience in analysis,implementation and evaluation of IT systems and theirspecifications.
  • Sound understanding of computersystems (hardware / software), networksetc.
  • Experience working with insourced andoutsourced IT operations.
  • GxP experience isrequired.
  • Sound administration andinterpersonal skills. Must be able to interact in a teamenvironment.
  • Strong analytical andproblem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal andwritten communication skills in German and Englishlanguage.
