What you'll do
As the Head of corporate controlling, you will report into the Director of Finance and Controlling and look after the HR controlling and financial controlling teams.
The role entails leading those two teams, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting to investor relations and collaborating closely with the HR department to manage and forecast personnel costs effectively.
The financial controlling team is responsible for budgeting, forecasting, reporting, cash flow forecasting, and investor relations.
They manage the overall financial performance of the company and communicate it to the CFO and the investors.
The HR controlling team is responsible for personal cost budgeting, reporting, and forecasting. They manage the HR budget for each C level and work with the HR department to ensure the accuracy and alignment of the data.

Key Tasks :
- Budget Management : Lead the company-wide planning process, including budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and reporting mechanisms
- Reporting and Forecasting : Produce and analyze reports, focusing on interim forecasts, FTEs, vacancies, and budget planning.
- Strategic Project Management : Lead strategic projects across financial and HR controlling, including the implementation of Workday Adaptive Planning, to streamline processes and enhance financial and personnel cost forecasting and reporting.
- Team Leadership : Direct and support the HR and financial controlling teams, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Ensure the teams are aligned with the company's strategic objectives and financial practices.
- Investor Relations : Prepare and present financial reports and forecasts to investors, ensuring transparency and fostering trust.
- Process Improvement : Identify and implement improvements in financial and HR controlling processes to support the organization's growth and operational efficiency.
- Annual Financial Statements : Collaborate with Accounting in preparing and auditing annual financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Who you are
Experience : Minimum of five years in financial control, with a preference for experience in scale-ups, startups, banks or PE portfolio companies.
Experience in both HR and financial controlling is preferred, but specialization in financial controlling with the ability to lead both domains is acceptable.
- Education : Bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
- Skills : Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with an excellent understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
Proficiency in financial software and Excel, with the ability to adapt to new technologies

This is not a role for someone who wants to stay in their comfort zone. It demands someone who is comfortable working in chaos, leading by example and able to drive projects through to completion.
- Excellent knowledge of Excel , as well as ERP systems (especially Workday) and Business Intelligence systems (PowerBI)
- You are fluent in English and it would be helpful if you could speak German (but this is not required)
