About the role

We’re looking for a Payroll Operations Specialist to join our team, someone who is comfortable with numbers and systems and is eager to make sure our payroll and pension processes run smoothly. This role will give you the opportunity to improve on processes that are crucial to our people and People Operations. You will work next to two People Operations Specialists, reporting into the Talent Operations & Performance Lead.

What you’ll achieve in your first year

Manage monthly payroll processes across 6 European countries, ensuring accurate and timely payments to employees while adhering to tax regulations and employment laws;

Streamline and standardize the payroll processes and select new payroll provider(s);

Administer and enhance voluntary pension arrangements, collaborating with external providers to optimize retirement benefits for employees;

Structure employee benefits offered under the Werk Kosten Regeling (WKR), ensuring compliance with tax regulations and maximizing tax-free benefits for employees;

Ensure accurate capture of employee data, including cost centers and other relevant attributes, in our HRIS system Personio;

Align people policies and procedures around compensation and benefits across multiple countries, ensuring consistency and compliance with company standards and local regulations;

Consistently inform the People Team on changes in payroll regulations, tax laws, and benefits practices across the countries of operation, and proactively recommend adjustments to policies;

Build a strong cooperation with external partners (payroll providers, BeFrank, Edmond Halley) and internal stakeholders (Finance, analysts, Talent Acquisition, HR BPs, Legal, etc).

Qualifications we’re looking for

Completed a Bachelor’s or Master’s program

Experience with improving (or building from scratch) payroll processes

Detail oriented and data driven : you’re confident doing data analysis and creating reports, comfortable with Excel / Sheets;

Administrative work enthusiast and good problem solving, figuring things out;

Ability to work in ambiguous situations and fast paced environment;

Passion for people & outstanding communication skills;

Fluency in Dutch and English, German would be a nice plus.
