RESPONSIBILITIES

In addition to leading an automation team, you will also take on the technical management of your employees.
Together with our internal project partners, you will design automation and high-throughput solutions for BASF laboratories as well as pilot plants and implement them with your team and external partners.
In addition, you will initiate and manage innovative research projects on the topics of automation as well as digitalization and look for suitable measurement and analysis methods for high-throughput as well as application tests.
You will observe and evaluate market trends as well as competitive and university activities for your field of work.
For your new tasks, you will use and expand internal know-how and establish contacts with operational units and scientific partners.
In addition, you will ensure compliance with occupational safety as well as environmental protection regulations in your work area.

QUALIFICATIONS

above-average university degree in the field of chemistry, engineering or physics with successfully completed doctorate

in-depth knowledge of scientific method development and automation of measuring equipment (measurement data acquisition, control of hardware components and robots, e.g. by means of PLC)

experience in data analysis as well as knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, C++, Matlab)

in-depth knowledge of physical chemistry, especially in the field of colloid chemistry, is an advantage

ability to methodically develop high-throughput technologies, openness to new things and enjoyment of technical issues as well as their implementation by means of equipment

used to mastering your tasks in both German and English

a high degree of determination, strength in performance, innovation and customer orientation as well as in teamwork and communication skills

strong data awareness and ability to use digital skills and tools to solve scientific problems
