What We Need
Corpay is currently looking to hire aSenior Financial Accountant with German within our Plugsurfingdivision, andis located in Berlin. In this role, you will have full accountability ofyour responsibility areas and work closely with the rest of the Finance team to ensure high-quality accounting data to support business decisions and meet the company’s compliance requirements. You will be responsible for the statutory accounting of Plugsurfing GmbH and ensure tax compliance in your responsibility areas. You will also participate in various audit-related queries and contribute to accounting-focused development processes.
You will report directly to the Head of Finance and regularly collaborate with the Financeteam and external auditors.
How We Work
As a Senior Financial Accountant with German you will be expected to work in a hybrid environment (2 days home office vs 3 days in office presence).Corpay will set you up for success by providing :
Assigned workspace in Berlin office
Company-issued equipment : laptop, monitor and accessories+ remote access for the Home Office Days
Role Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role will include :
Taking the lead on the accounting to produce statutory accounts for Plugsurfing entities within the required timetables
Ensuring full Tax compliancy in your responsibility areas including VAT in multiple VAT registrations
Leading the statutory monthly closing process and validation of the financial data
Working closely with the rest of the Finance Team to ensure high-quality monthly financial information.
Developing and maintaining accounting processes together with the finance team to meet company targets and compliance requirements
Participating and supporting the Plugsurfing audit activities and development projects
Be the key contact person for the auditors
Supporting the Finance team with ad hoc analysis and reporting as needed
Qualifications & Skills
You are fluent in German (C1-C2 level) both in written and oral forms
You are fluent in English (at least B2 level)
You are an experienced Financial Accountant with a proven history of delivering and maintainingaccurate and compliant accounting performance
You have a mastery of German GAAP and a good understanding of different accounting standards (e.g. US GAAP, IFRS, Dutch GAAP, etc)
You have strong accounting skills and a can-do attitude with attention to details
You are an advanced user of Dynamics D365
You have a good understanding of German direct (CiT) and indirect (VAT) taxation, a good understanding of international VAT is a strong plus
You have a strong tolerance to uncertainty and adaptation to a quickly changing work environment, are comfortable making decisions in your responsibility area quickly without all the information
You are energetic, resourceful, and do what it takes to get the job done
If you have experience with payroll accounting it is a plus
Previous experience in working with payment service providers (e.g. Adyen, Stripe, Paypal) is a plus
Experience in using Datev, NetSuite, PowerBI and other analytics tools is a plus
Other ERP experiences are welcome
All professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, Bilanzbuchhalter) are very welcome and a strong plus
