The Role : How You'll Make an Impact at Personio
As the leader for product release-related Content Development, you will help drive both the strategic and operational success of our help center content, ensuring customers and employees can make the most of our software. You’ll also define process and quality standards, as well as create content that directly drives successful product adoption for our customers.
You’ll champion the personal and professional growth of our release-focused Content Developer team, foster a culture of trust and independent work, and play a key role in building an effective release process.
As a true player-coach, you’ll actively contribute to content development while coaching your team and collaborating with other leaders to uphold documentation quality and support seamless product releases. Your native-level German writing skills and passion for people management will help shape a world-class, multilingual customer experience.
Role Responsibilities : What You'll Do
Team Leadership & Development : Provide leadership and nurture the personal growth of the Content Developer Team, creating a motivating environment built on trust and autonomy.
Player-Coach Approach : Actively contribute as a hands-on content developer while coaching team members, sharing best practices, and supporting their professional development.
Customer Communication : Collaborate with partner teams on the conception, creation, and delivery of educational content across all channels,including help center articles, newsletters, video tutorials, and in-app notifications, tailored to the needs of our international customer base.
Cross-Functional Collaboration : Serve as a vital interface between Product Management and CX Operations teams, ensuring content aligns with evolving product and customer requirements.
Process Evolution : Work together with Product Operations, Release Management, and other teams directly involved in the release process to make the process more efficient and predictable, with the right information provided across product briefs, change reports, and bill of materials to enable the team to create content that truly resonates with customers.
Documentation Excellence : Continuously expand and optimize internal product and process documentation, enabling efficient workflows and rapid onboarding for new employees.
Operational & Strategic Development : Shape and execute the strategy for educational content, driving both day-to-day operations and long-term improvements.
Quality & Standards : Collaborate with other team leads to define and uphold documentation quality standards, supporting the product release process and ensuring consistency across all materials.
KPI-Driven Management : Work with clear KPIs, analyzing and interpreting results to guide improvements and clearly communicate impact.
Role Requirements : What You Need to Succeed
3 or more years of professional experience in documentation, help center content, knowledge management, content management, or a comparable field.
Proven leadership experience as a people manager, ideally within an agile environment.
Basic project management skill and proficiency.
Demonstrated ability to work hands-on as a content developer while coaching and developing others.
Native-level German writing skills and excellent English communication abilities.
Strong analytical skills and a KPI-driven approach, with the ability to interpret and present results clearly.
Entrepreneurial mindset, structured working style, and a balance of decision-making power, assertiveness, and team spirit.
Outstanding communication skills and the ability to influence and collaborate across teams.

At Personio, we value in-person collaboration while also offering flexibility. This role is office-based, with 3 days per week required in your contracted office location. The remaining days can be worked from home or in the office if you prefer. In addition, you’ll have 20 Flex Days per year to work remotely from other locations.
