What You’ll Do

In Platform Engineering, an Architect provides automation and DevOps expertise in the form of hands-on technical leadership on multi-functional project teams. Your role is to supercharge a team’s output through applying your experience in creating scalable, resilient, and automated solutions.

Specifically, you will :

  • Be a technology leader on a pod of engineers on multi-functional teams to create purpose-built software products for clients
  • Collaborate with clients and Slalom teams to design and deliver major components of a modern Platform Engineering solution
  • Provide expertise in DevOps culture, tooling, delivery methods, and cultural practices within Slalom Build and with clients
  • Drive work effort estimation and story pointing to align with user and business goals in each Agile project phase
  • Develop project / technology case studies, training materials, and technical guidance, and participate in internal and external events to promote learning and growth

What You’ll Bring

  • As an Architect you bring 5-10 years of experience as an architect across software engineering and DevOps in production in at least one major public cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • We will tap into your knowledge of designing and implementing end-to-end continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI / CD) pipelines as well as your experience in configuration management and infrastructure as code (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM, etc.)
  • Security is part of everything we do and will require your knowledge of fundamental cloud security (e.g., identity and access management, firewalls, etc.) as we build for our customers
  • You will be leveraging your growth mentality and enthusiasm about learning new technologies quickly, and applying your gained knowledge to address practical business problems for your customer
  • Showing your ability to lead conversations with clients on a business level and translate their needs into technical solutions will be what maximizes yours’ but also your teams' velocity
