We are looking for a motivated, creative, and versatile sales professional, fluent in both German and English, to join our dynamic and rapidly growing team in Germany.
Position Overview
As a Business Development Manager German Market, you will be instrumental in developing and executing growth strategies within our retail business.
Your target markets will include garden centers and larger national accounts, including buying groups.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive Sales and Growth : Engage with existing customers and leads to drive sales in both brick-and-mortar and e-commerce settings.
- Lead Generation : Prospect and develop new leads by :
- Attending trade shows and industry networking events.
- Participating in trade associations and digital social groups.
- Collaborating with the marketing team to align digital campaigns with lead generation objectives.
- Relationship Management : Expand relationships with current accounts and leads.
- Performance Metrics : Set and regularly evaluate KPIs and sales targets to measure growth and performance.
- Market Analysis : Understand and analyze the competitive landscape of our product ranges.
- Reporting : Provide monthly progress reports and self-evaluations to the team leader, aligned with team-set targets.
- Marketing Feedback : Offer feedback to the marketing department on events and marketing expenditures to accurately assess ROI.
- Consistent Communication : Maintain consistency in all customer communications by staying well-versed in brand initiatives and the brand story.
- Budget Management : Develop annual budgets for all sales-related activities and manage the expense budget effectively.
Qualifications
- Industry Experience : Previous sales experience within the lawn and garden industry.
- Networking Skills : An established network of potential contacts to build a business portfolio.
- Relationship Building : A passion for connecting, networking, and building long-term relationships.
- Project Development : Experience in project development and implementation.
- Strategic Thinking : A strategic, creative thinker who excels in a team environment.
- Goal Orientation : Goal-oriented with a drive to achieve and exceed targets.
- Language Proficiency : Fluency in both German and English.
- Location : Based in Germany.
- Interest in Design : A strong interest in design, gardening, and outdoor spaces.
Requirements
- A bachelor's or master's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in business development, ideally within the garden, landscape, or design industry.
- Extensive knowledge of the German market and a deep understanding of local business practices and culture.
- Excellent communication skills in both German and English.
- A proactive, self-driven approach with a strong focus on achieving results and customer satisfaction.
- Willingness to travel regularly within Germany and occasionally to the company’s headquarters.
