Your future team

The Accounting & Reporting Advisory (ARA) Service is a dedicated team providing accounting & financial reporting advisory services, specialising in IFRS, US GAAP and LUX GAAP. The team assists clients by providing expert input to challenging transactions, performing critical reviews of financial statements, providing trainings amongst others.

ARA is a dynamic, multicultural and young team, assisting both external clients and audit teams with complex accounting matters and the practical application of accounting & financial reporting standards. Accustomed to being the expert in the room, ARA has at the core of its objective the development of its members both technically and non-technically, aiming to make them experts in their subject but as well all-rounders in terms of soft skills. ARA is also a strong supporter of diversity. ARA team members therefore benefit from extensive trainings both internally designed by ARA Luxembourg and as well from the Global firm, on-the-job coaching and career coaching & development. New ARA members are welcomed with an extensive onboarding program with dedicated learning time prior to navigating the waters. As part of ARA, you will be developing experience across different industries and will benefit from a network of expertise. You will be interacting frequently with team members from other departments including Audit, Advisory and Tax. You will also be exposed to a network of expertise locally and internationally from which you will learn.

Your next challenge

  • Performing research works and analysis on specific operations (M&A, restructuring, financial instruments, etc.) to advise clients and / or support audit teams with the accounting and financial reporting requirements
  • Performing review of accounting policies and financial statements under IFRS, Lux GAAP and US GAAP
  • Assisting with consolidation accounting challenges
  • Preparing training materials to educate clients and the Deloitte’s teams about the most recent accounting & financial reporting updates
  • Developing a strong network with your peers in the firm as well as other people from other departments with whom you will be working and with clients
  • Participating in presentations, articles and non-technical activities to contribute to the growth of the service line
  • Assisting in preparing proposals to answer to client’s needs

Your skills

  • Holding a Master’s degree in economics or finance or accounting (similar field) and in the process of acquiring one of the above professional qualifications  or
  • Holding an internationally recognised professional qualification such as ACCA, ACA, US CPA, DSCG, DEC, Luxembourgish IRE
  • You are fluent in English (French and / or German and / or Luxembourgish will be strong advantage)
  • You are passionate about performing research work on accounting topics under multiple GAAPs
  • You think outside and beyond the box
  • You are a strong team player, promoting a strong team spirit but can also work independently when required
  • You enjoy technical accounting as much as you enjoy promoting relationships, the business, and building strong networks
