Our engineering team is responsible for the testing, validation, and quality assurance of these critical systems, from production to deployment in space.
We are looking for a Test Engineer - Mechanical Space Systems to join our team to develop and execute the tests we perform with our separation systems and with our satellite customers. Your role is based at our JFH - Engineering Office in Charlottenburg.
The ideal candidate for this role has a background in space technology, with experience in satellite launch, test engineering and mechanism design. You are an excellent communicator and team player and are passionate about being part of a dynamic team that is driving the satellite industry forward.
Your mission
Plan and execute test campaigns for all Exolaunch products and customer satellites.
Analyze test data and write reports.
Develop integration and check-out procedures for launch site activities.
Design test fixtures and coordinate manufacturing with our suppliers.
Ensure Exolaunch products comply with internal specifications, customer requirements, and applicable standards.
Travel to launch sites and international customer facilities to support technical operations.
Your profile
M aster’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar field. Preferred is a background in mechanism design and mechatronics.
At least two years of experience in space hardware testing and space standards (e.g. ECSS), particularly around mechanisms and structures. Testing experience in other industries is also welcomed.
Experience in working hands-on with hardware.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Excellent technical communication skills.
Experience in working with CAD software such as Solidworks.
Positive and proactive self-starter attitude and ability to work in a highly integrated team setting.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
Flexibility for frequent travel, occasionally at short notice.

Location Requirement : This role is based in Berlin. Candidates must either currently reside in Berlin or be open to relocating.
Travel Expectations : The position requires flexibility for occasional travel, including short-notice trips. You should be comfortable with traveling approximately 10-15% of your work time or for extended periods of up to two weeks at a time, either to off-site test facilities, customer locations or to launch sites.
