Hauptaufgaben

Responsible for advising, monitoring and evaluating the programs of the Supply & Services Division. Serves as an advisor to the Chief, Supply and Services Division, in connection with the overall logistics mission and functional responsibility including contingency operations. Responsible for the support of multiple Logistics Information Systems (LIS) in support of the organization. LIS support includes but are not limited to Army Food Management Information System (AFMIS), Point of Sale (POS), Credit Card Devices, Subsistence Total Order and Receipt Electronic System (STORES), Central Issue Facility - Installation Support Module - (CIF-ISM), Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-A), These systems are in use throughout the theater.

OPERATIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Work as a Supply Systems Analyst. Primary responsibilities including receiving, testing, coordinating and implementing software (Software Change Packages (SCPs), Interim Change Packages (ICPs), Communications Software and other automation programs that automate the maintenance, supply, and transportation operations and provide guidance to other staff elements and subordinate units. Perform software conversion, hardware fielding and continuous support. Provides technical advice, guidance, and assistance on subsistence (CL 1) and on other supply operations to a customer base of approximately 14 subsistence accounts comprising of Warrior Restaurants (Dining Facilities) and Field Rations accounts for Rheinland-Pfalz, Stuttgart and Wiesbaden areas of responsibilities. Review data processing that support subsistence programs and documents additions, changes, and deletions. Acts as a conduit between Supply Subsistence Management Office (SSMO) and functional users in various logistical fields (supply, maintenance and transportation) In this capacity, assists SSMOs, DFACs and functional users in the identification of computer problems, and responds promptly to system breakdowns via on-site trouble-shooting visits. Incumbent must be able to determine whether problem is technical in nature, i.e. caused by hardware / software failure, or functional in nature, i.e. due to operators not using the LIS correctly. Incumbent is required to develop methods of software repair and preventative measures to avoid system breakdowns, as well as provide individual instruction to operators regarding proper functional use of the LIS. Provide hands on technical support to Logistics Information Systems to provide uninterrupted operation. Communicates with other agencies within the logistics and information technology communities through meetings, teleconference and day-to-day interaction. Represents 405th AFSB, LRC-RP interests at inter-organizational working groups, conferences, meetings, etc. Provides sustainment information systems network configuration and communication support. In this capacity, assist functional users in the identification of problems, and respond promptly to system breakdowns. Provide training to assigned unit and, in some instances, their operators as required. Additional training will be provided to new soldiers / civilian functional employees.

Training will be developed with outside agencies (HQ USAREUR / AF, HQ 21st TSC, 5th Signal Command, Software Engineering Center Ft Gregg Adams Virginia, Combined Arms Support Command, PM TACMIS) and will integrate directly with the Army's training management system (tasks, conditions and standards).

STAFF ASSISTANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Monitor Logistics Automation Systems to determine their efficiency in meeting established information requirements and analyzes and develops improvements in the system and techniques of the ration supply system. Coordination : Maintain continuous liaison with effected System Administrators and functional representatives to monitor, expedite, and / or facilitate various logistical systems / processes. Participate as a team member for logistical projects (i.e. : software acceptance tests) planning studies designed to determine the need for revision of USAREUR and DA concepts and policies to improve the logistical posture of increased effectiveness of operations. Performs maintenance at all dining facilities in Rheinland Pfalz that have head count machines, ensuring that the automatic data processing tools are up to date at least every month and when the machines are out of order. Recommend additional changes to both supply and computer experts. Provide functional input to the Chief, Supply & Services, LRC Rheinland Pfalz Baumholder to ensure the command's interests are considered in the development of new DA Standard and Rheinland Pfalz unique systems. Coordinate the implementation of functions and activities with lateral branches / divisions / directorates and other staff elements to ensure all functional requirements are recognized and conflicts can be resolved.

C-2003-07 :

E&T Level I : 2 years of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 5 years of experience as defined in B below.

Current employees,

who do not meet E&T Level I and who are not in the same or similar occupation

must have 2 additional years of creditable experience as described in A below.

E&T Level II : 1 year of creditable experience as defined in A below PLUS 5 years of experience as defined in B below.

E&T Level III : 4 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.

E&T Level IV : 3 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.

E&T Level V : 2 years of creditable experience as defined in B below.

Current employees,

who have served one year in the same or similar occupation are qualified for the next higher grade.

Experience A :

Included clerical work in an office or store, working with computers, bookkeeping, making and recording inventories, telephone marketing, arranging for events or as a cashier, etc.

Experience B :

Experience in the same or similar line of work as the job for which considered.

The experience must demonstrate that the applicant possesses the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required in the position.

The predominant experience must have been gained at a comparable level of difficulty to the position to be filled.

The amount of the higher level experience must be in a reasonable relation to the required total number of years.

  • Basic understanding and knowledge of Information systems used for logistical resupply within the US Army Europe.
  • Office automation skills are required.
  • Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a military driver's license.
  • Applicants must be in possession of a German driver's license class B.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY LEVEL :

  • English Language Proficiency level C1 required,

    This is 1x permanent, full-time (38.5 hrs / week) position.

  • The incumbent of this position is occasionally required to perform TDY (Temporary Duty Travel) within Germany.
  • Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs (ca. 27 kg).
