Convergint is seeking a fulltime enthusiastic resultsdriven forwardthinking Commissioning Engineer to join our fantastic culture. In this role you will be responsible for application engineering programming troubleshooting startup and checkout of assigned installed projects. This position is a key technical support contact for our customers and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with installed Security and / or integrations into Building Automation Systems. W h a t you d o w i t h O u r T r a i n i n g a n d Y o u r E x p e r i e n c e

  • Analyze functional specifications and co contracts to detain depth range and advise on overall project requirements; manage various project aspects including estimating design tracking startup and PL and planning phases.
  • Provide input review and prepare shop drawings and wiring diagrams based on project plans and specifications. These diagrams should show the location of devices equipment wiring etc.
  • Advise the Project Manager and / or Sales regarding appropriate products needed for installation identifying any issues on product lines on an ongoing basis to ensure timely delivery of projects.
  • Act as our customers best service provider at all times thereby ensuring Convergint is the customers first choice for service
  • Provide custom systems integrations detailed systems upgrade planning and execution systems audits and consultation and / or database management and manipulation. May install configure and support a variety of network systems and equipment for assigned projects
  • Assist project managers in preparing and / or reviewing formal submittal booklets containing schematics and technical literature as necessary to support each contract.
  • Act as a technical resource and support to sales executives including attending prebooking meetings
  • Prepare databases and jobrelated programming for computerbased systems
  • Provide diagnostic and troubleshooting support for possible problems including debugging software electrical issues installation problems etc. to existing customers sales team and service department as necessary

  • Exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted
  • Solid knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems fire alarm systems and / or electronic security systems
  • Advanced programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions
  • Be a selfstarter and work well without supervision. Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Advanced verbal written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects
  • Highly proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook Word Excel) AutoCAD and / or viewing software; solid networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily)

    • R e q u i r e m e n t s :

  • Minimum of five years of previous relevant lowvoltage systems project experience
  • Experience in electronic fire alarm & life safety and / or building automation industry
  • Productspecific certifications preferred; applicable industryspecific and / or IT certifications required;
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
