Tasks

You will :

  • Own and further develop our underwriting and student scoring model for evaluating student applicants including identifying gaps and areas of improvement
  • Build systems or models to analyse and interpret data to assess the creditworthiness and risk profile of students
  • Incorporate external market factors and data into the underwriting model to ensure accurate risk assessment
  • Leverage advanced analytics and machine learning techniques in underwriting
  • Lead the data collection efforts to ensure informed databased decisionmaking

Requirements

You have :

  • A Masters degree in a relevant field (e.g. finance economics mathematics data science)
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in underwriting or an adjacent field preferably in an insurance financial or lending institution
  • A strong proficiency in data analysis and modelling with expertise in using statistical software and programming languages such as Python
  • A solid understanding of credit risk assessment principles and methodologies
  • The ability to interpret complex financial data and make sound underwriting decisions
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with attention to detail
  • A selfmotivated and proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
