Description of duties and role responsibilities :
- Coach, lead, and develop team members to ensure organizational goals and objectives are met.
- Coordinate all tasks related to the laboratory, including employee training, planning, prioritization, and assignment of daily work.
- Develop and maintain working environments that are health and safety conscious.
- Direct and prioritize continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality related processes.
- Conduct process capability studies, gauge repeatability and reproducibility studies, and assist in tool, machine and production process approval. Create quality plans.
- Coordination of necessary activities of industrial engineering, production, supply chain, engineering and quality to solve quality issues leading to high scrap, rework, or interruptions to the production lines.
- Technical liaison for supplier communication and discussions.
- Conduct and manage testing of respiratory protection filters and self-rescue devices with highly toxic gases, such as ammonia, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide or hydrogen cyanide.
- Conduct and manage testing of filter self-rescuers and oxygen self-rescuers against carbon monoxide.
- Responsible for all testing requirements, including process documentation, assessment, and final product release to production.
- Measurement of specific data of raw materials and chemicals, including process documentation, assessment, and final release to support incoming inspection.
- Oversee general laboratory activities such as titration, photometry, mechanical tests, oil and grease residue and laboratory organization
Qualifications
- Chemist / Chemical Engineer Degree (Master, Diploma)
- At least 3 5 years’ experience in a senior Laboratory position, including proficiency in data analysis and project management.
- Lean quality management tool knowledge like Poka Yoke, Six Sigma, Ishikawa etc. preferred.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Ability to build highly effective working relationships with other functional and business leaders, to define a common strategy and processes that meet the customers’ needs.
- Good MS-office knowledge. SAP preferred.
- Continuous improvement mindset in challenging existing business process approaches.
- Convey priorities with the right sense of urgency and importance.
- Empowers others to achieve desired results and holds them accountable.
- High level of proficiency in English, written and verbal. Confident in business discussions
