3D Senior / Lead Artist

About Us

Pixel Pie is an up and coming mobile game studio based in Tel Aviv, founded by industry veterans and backed by leading gaming companies and investors.

We’re around 20 designers and developers, all working together on an innovative game, based on massively popular casual mechanics with a multiplayer twist and a 3D game environment.

About the Position

We are looking for an exceptional and experienced Senior / Lead 3D Artist with a minimum of 8 years experience to join us as part of the core team and help shape the future of the team and the game we are working on.

You will be assisting leadership in further envisioning, building, refining and honing processes and workflows ranging from hands-on 3D work, giving internal / external feedback, setting up production processes up to meeting high level criteria of a successful team.

Responsibilities

• Keen attention to shapes, colors and detail with excellent execution skills on artistic as well as on technical level using efficient 3D Modeling, UV management and Texturing techniques to achieve the best output using the least amount of resources viable for mobile platforms.
• Able to collaborate with the entire team to prototype, model and texture characters, props, objects, buildings and gameboard elements, bringing the team's vision from concept to life.
• Excellent communication, collaboration and documentation skills to make sure knowledge transfer within the team is established and maintained and team members are elevated across all levels to a consistent output.
• Integrate and maintain project assets in consistent quality. Coordinate with leads for best practices and processes.
• Able to bring in your own ideas and vision to create a truly collaborative project where diversity, inclusion and reach are king.

Requirements

Proficient with Modelling and Painting Software like 3DS Max, Maya, Blender, Zbrush, Photoshop, Substance Painter and / or similar.

We use Maya as main software and Max and Blender on occasion.

• Portfolio exhibiting the required skills and responsibilities. Applications without a portfolio link will not be considered.
• 2+ mobile game shipped or worked on in sufficient capacity as Senior or Lead Artist
• Strong communication skills and willingness to track and document.
• Flexible thinking and ability to deal with quick iterations and changes in direction.
• Excellent and proactive communicator.
• Experience in version control.
• Unity experience (We are using Unity).

Nice to have

• Scripting / Technical / Integration experience.
• Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of gaming trends and player expectations.
